**AATB**

I didn't want to be a total threadjacker.  I love the split shank setting!  Did you pick it out or did Ben?  What wedding band are you getting to go with it?

    EEEEE!

Ben and I picked it out together.  It's yellow gold.  Gah.  Love it.

It's from South African Diamonds and it has a band that actually goes with it.  We actually just ordered it yesterday.  But it just fits right next to the e-ring.

    What about you?

  • Yay!

Mine is white gold.  Nathan and i talked about getting engaged, but I didn't know any details. He knows I'm really particular about my jewelry and that I'd never exchange the ring he actually proposed with, so he asked me to give him some choices.  I picked  about 5 or 6 rings online, but this was my favorite.

The designer is Mark Schneider.  He does this thing called the secret heart.  It's on the underside of the ring band and it's a gold heart with a diamond.  The diamond has a laser inscription that says "Love you forever."  That's my favorite part of the ring.

M.S. has a matching band, but it's pricey, so I'm going to shop around and see if I can find a matching band from a generic jewelry store rather than ordering it through the designer.
  • Here's a linky to mine... but yeah, very, very similar - http://www.mywedding.com/danibenj/stories.html

I've actually seen that secret heart thing before - that is so cool that you have one!  Haha I'm all envious now :)

  • I love it!  It's so pretty in gold!  And you have such a great proposal story!

(I'm laughing at my own excessively excited  punctuation)

Hehe aw thank you :) You guys do too!!!

ETA - I actually get the crown rhodium plated because I don't like that it was yellow around the diamond.  But yeah.  It's perfect now.  Tee hee!

  • Thanks :).  I sympathize about the waiting.  He bought the ring in the beginning of March (he let it slip) and didn't propose until close to the end of April.  Where was the ring? In his trunk!!
  • His trunk!  LOL That's too FUNNY!

I was okay with the waiting... and I knew when he had talked to my parents, but my parents didn't know that I was aware of it.  They waited a little more than two months for the call that I was engaged - it was driving them crazy!

The way I broke the news was I called my dad and said "Dad, I need some money."  And I've never asked him for a cent in my life.  He was like "What happened?"  I said "Well, I got engaged, and I need some for the wedding."  Hahahahaha

  • Haha, that was a great way to break they news!  They definitely weren't expecting that!

Once he planned the picnic and we decided to go to the city, my friends were pretty sure he was going to do it.  I didn't want to get my hopes up, but I mentioned it to my mom when we went out to lunch the weekend before.  She kind of changed the subject and I was a little hurt, thinking she really wasn't too thrilled.  I didn't actually realize that he had already talked to her in February about getting pictures together for  the slideshow.  She was afraid she'd give it away, so she avoided my calls that week :)
  • Haha awww!  And then after it was over you put the pieces together like, oooh, I see how it is :)
    panther
  • Yeah.  At first I just thought my mom was a major biotch :)

Did you pick out the jewelry for your BMs yet?
  • Ugh, no.  I am seriously so indecisive.  I stopped looking after that last thread I posted... I have lots of ideas, but I feel like I needed to just sit on them for a few days instead of bombarding myself with more ideas and suggestions.  I'll probably AW it when I do figure it out :)

  • I actually really like that set.  I love that you can keep it white or pick another color.  It's simple, but elegant, and it seems like something the girls can wear again.  I would definitely like it.
  • ...Okay.  Haha, thank you :)  I like it too.

I have two flower girls to buy for too, and then his two older nieces as well.  They are handing out programs.  But I have a feeling they'll be easier.

  • Yeah, the kids are usually the easiest.  I hate buying gifts for people because I never feel like I pick the right thing.  I love giving gifts, but the actual shopping is so stressful.
