Morning ladies! Not really sure why I am up because I am off today. I have a 4 day weekend and plan on doing nothing, well maybe some cleaning. These are the days when I am happy to work in a school. Anyway, I have been having this horrible cough/congestion thingy going for 3 weeks now. My BIL wrote me a script for this new antibiotic on NYE and gave me a coupon to get it free, but the damn coupon expired on 12/31 and when I went to Walgreen's that day, they were out of that medication and I wasn't about to drive to every pharmacy before midnight to find it, so I am making H fill it at Costco today since he works there. Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend?

Good morning!  I think my interview went well yesterday.  It's an extremely competitive opportunity but I really hope I get it.  They are hiring three people but because it's a state job they are required by law to interview three people per position so it could be a little while before I hear anything.  I'm excited about the prospect though!  

No weekend plans.  H is going to go hang out with an old coworker who is trying to recruit him back to his old job.  We'll see how that goes.  I'm not in favor of it but I have a feeling he's going to do it.

Nothing exciting really - Adam is off the whole long weekend too (first weekend we will have entirely together since Christmas) so we are probably going to do some things like go on a photography walk or something. I wanna screw around in my garden for a bit too if its warm enough to see what my garlic is doing.

Other than that, I found out the punch brothers are going to be in Toronto in 2 weeks and Adam works late that night and refuses to change his shift to go so im trying to talk people in to taking me. Im not above bribing them if it comes right down to it. I really REALLY want to go.

Oh, and I got an update at work yesterday. I for sure have a job until the end of may. worst case scenerio is that they have to let me go may 1st (they figure thats the longest they can afford to keep me and still have things to give me to do) but if they do I will get 1 months notice of it. So, I mean thats atleast 3 months of *some* security I suppose.

Morning! TGIF indeed.

H came down with a cold this week, and it's finally starting to catch up with me, which really sucks because my race is in just over a week. So, I'm sucking down Airborne and feeding myself Zicam like nobody's business. I can't afford to get sick this close to race day.

We were supposed to go to a Mardi Gras party tonight, but I think I'm just going to stay home and sleep. I'm supposed to go on a 6-mile training run with my running group on Sunday, so hopefully I'll be able to make that.

ETA: My CHI flat iron died this week, so I've been having to use a curling iron to straighten my bangs (not easy, I tell ya, I almost burned my forehead so many times). This is the one I have right now:

Morning, all.

Hope you kick that cold soon, Mehg. I know how hard you've been working for this race. And hope you're feeling better soon too, Denise. There's been some weird respiratory viruses this winter it seems, and they're lingering longer than they used to. Yuck.

H and I are heading up north tomorrow to see his parents and to visit with some friends of ours. We're staying overnight and then visiting with some other friends on Sunday. They have a new baby (well, she's 3mos old now) but we haven't been able to see them since the baby came, and we're excited to be able to hang out with everyone. And since it's a long weekend, Monday is a cleaning day. Not much fun, but at least it's a whole day of me being able to clean out the junk room and start the process of turning it into a nursery.

Nebb, Joe and I rarely have off the same days together. Siince I work in a school I get off on the weekends. Since he became a manager at Costco, he gets one weekend day off and one weekday. 

Mehg, I have that same Chi. I got it on Ebay like 2 years ago for $35.

I feel surprisingly good today.  I felt like absolute garbage yesterday evening.  I laid down for an hour+ nap and still didn't feel much better.  Swollen and uncomrfortable.  So, I sat on the couch with my feet up and a heating pad on my back and we ordered pizza.  I'm not sure if it was the Fanta, or just the relaxing, but by the end of the night I felt muuuuuch better.  So despite having a bit of a late bedtime, I'm feeling nice and rested today.

No real big plans this weekend.  We're going carpet shopping tomorrow and dinenr at my mom's in honour of my birthday on Sunday.  Derek get's Monday off, but my office moved the stat to Dec 24th, sooo, I'm taking a vacation day.

Thanks ladies. I think once I get the antibiotic I will feel better. I was resisting the idea, but since this has been lingering, I figure it is about time. It is a new one, it is a one dose shot (liquid), so I hope it works.

This week went way to fast for me. Even though I can't wait until the weekend I'm still very much dreading my flight to Long Island on Tuesday and the days in between until I come back on Friday. Oh well. No plans this weekend except getitng last minute things together and my FFIL is coming down on Sunday.

Nates, is Bax OK? As long as it wasn't dark chocolate he should be OK. Our family golden retirever ate a whole box of brownies with fidge icing. She didn't like the nuts though and spit them out all over the floor.

Good morning all. I have a bunch of nothing going on. We are getting busier now that our rental season is in full swing, which started yesterday. We have about 600-800 apartments up for rent right now. Should be fun.

Mehg- from a professional stylist standpoint, nothing is better than the CHI. I have one. There are others out there that will do what the CHI does but they won't last as long. You might get the same affect but it will definitely break down faster. I went through at least one to two really expensive straighteners a year in the salon, and we didn't use them as much as you would think. Maybe three times a week.

I can't tell you how happy I am that it is Friday.  Today is my mom's 50th birthday  We are going to celebrate tomorrow with her.  She went out with a friend last night for drinks to celebrate and ended up doing a shot with a guy I went to elementary school with... weird!  

Today shouldn't be too busy here.  I'm hoping to get out of work at a normal time.  Also, I'm hoping by jamming sinus meds down my throat that I keep this nasty headache at bay... so far so good.

Nates- Milk or dark chocolate?  FIs moms dachshunds ate a bag of milk chocolate candy before.

Sorry. This phone is being a bitch. It was just a Hersheys bar. Unfortunately, this beast gets.into trouble like this all the.time, so we usually give him charcoal and he's fine. He looks ago now, just thirsty. When we drop him off I'll have the vet check him out, but I think he'll be okay. YIO, we're visiting the ILs in IN for the long weekend. I want a CHI.

I totally made a stupendous lunch for today and then accidentallyt left it at home. I'm instead going to go get pizza and a Fanta for lunch now. Happy accidents, y'know?

Nates, that's good.  Dark chocolate is the real concern anyways.  I've never heard of the charcoal thing for dogs.  We always just did the peroxide bit.

Amber - I do, its a phone interview next week. My boss told me yesterday that if I do find something else that's fine but just to give them notice. They're pretty open to anything at this point I think. Denise - that's adams schedule too. He usually is off thursday and sunday and is supposed to get 1 full weekend off a month but something happened in january and he forgot or something. Conveniently he is getting his this month on the long weekend so I suppose its ok.

Good morning

It's my last day at work before enjoying 9 days away from this place. I'm feeling pretty feisty today so I think I'm going to send a couple of emails to ruffle some feathers. I'm so sick of our "technical support" people, they suck. 

We're going to a benefit fish fry tonight and I'm really looking forward to it. They have it every year and we usually have a really good time. Then tomorrow I'm going shopping for a new gun. I need a smaller one that I can use as my conceal gun and I'm thinking about going with a revolver instead of semi-automatic. Oh and we got our new fridge yesterday and I'm pretty much in love with it. I can't freaking believe the technology that is built into some of these appliances now. Now I want a new dishwasher and stove

Morning ladies!

Hope all you sick ladies feel better soon. I know there is something going around. My allergies are the only thing driving me crazy. Woke up with one eye all swelled and bloodshot.

Tonight is yoga, since she had to reschedule from last night. Tomorrow we will probably have the dinner with friends that had to be rescheduled because of the snow (wimps).

Then I plan to clean he house, H leaves for FL next weekend, and I love a clean house when he leaves!

Our dog likes chocolate, he gets into it any chance he can get. He hasn't had any ill effects from it thankfully and we've been better about keeping it out of his reach. It's one of the only things he will get into. For a while we thought he might be suicidal.

I am super excited for my 4 day weekend! Today is our anniversary so we're going out for Turkish food. This weekend we're going away with two others couples for a friend's birthday. We've rented a cabin on a lake and while they're all off skiing, FH and I will be cuddling by the fire. And probably watching Boardwalk Empire. 

The guy whose birthday it is works as a professional chef and he is planning on doing a lot of cooking. It should be a ton of fun but murder on my diet!

Lol the classical music station I listen to regularly plays musical scores from movies. They did jurassic park the other day and right now they're doing harry potter. I called my buddy at work to tell him and was informed it sounded like I was calling him from hogwarts. I wish.

Jfc, there's no service out here. Lbarr, my vet actually told me about the charcoal. It binds to the.chemicals in the chocolate and removes the toxins, apparently. But, fair warning, their poop will be BLACK. Ha at the suicidal dog. We're said the same. One of my coworkers gave me this bar for VDay and I totally forgot it was in my bag when we ran into the bathroom. Trust this chocoholic to find it! KD, I hope your eye feels better! That doesn't sound fun.

good morning everyone!

i'm starting to lose my voice, which means i have a cold coming on. i sound all gruff and was able to do a spot on impression of James Earl Jones this morning while playing with the kitty (she has a furry tail-like toy and she likes to have it on her head, which makes her look like Simba. and I was saying "simbaaaa" in the James Earl Jones voice).

but in better news, my coworker actually showed up today, which means i can focus on doing my own tasks today. and i'm counting down the hours until i can go pick up our mugs from Color Me Mine. we made mugs for each other for valentine's day.
