Shoes with tights.

Tell me how you feel about open toed shoes with tights? I always hated the look but it seems to have come in style and I think it looks okay with some shoes.

How do you think these shoes would look with black or dark tights?


I'm looking for a better picture of them....

I have no fashion sense whatsoever, so take this with a grain of salt, but I'm not a fan.  It reminds me of socks with sandals and that never looks good either, IMO.

Haha I just realized that most of my foot (in tights) would show. For some reason I was thinking just my tighted toes would show.

I don't personally care for it, but then I am the last person to ask in regards to fashion. Tights with open toe shoes look odd to me.

I think the only open toe shoes that look good with tights are open toe boots or booties. Like these would look cute with grey tights, because they are obviously a winter/fall shoe:

Oh I just actually read Felicity's post (Sorry I've had waaay too much to drink tonight.  LAbor day cookouts and whatnot)...

I take back my arrow.  I would do the booties with black tights, but not gray tights.  My first thought when I read gray tights and those shoes was of Fraulein Maria.

I do it all the time and get complimented on it.  When paired with the right tights, the combo makes your legs look super long.

I think if it is just a small peep toe, its fine.  I've done it a hundred times.  Usually black peep toes on black tights.  Anything more - or god forbid, strappy - no way.

I think it really just depends on the shoes and color tights.  I don't really like tights.....so I'd rather be cold but thats just me.

When we lived in Alaska I had no problem not wearing tights or real shoes. I'm just afraid since I'm used to the heat now that I'm going to freeze my butt off.

See, I'm the opposite.  I have a hardcore pair of shoes that I wear all year round.  I'll have to get a pic.  With black tights (they're black), they make my legs look so long.  I don't like peep toes with tights because I feel like the point of peep toe is to show case your toes.  If there are tights, it defeats the purpose.  When I wear them with shoes that are more open, I think the tights stand out in a cool, fashion-y way. 

I do it and say go for it, but it's not for everyone.

I have a nude patent open toe Mary Jane that I wear with black tights.  Love the way it looks.

I don't think I would wear them with those shoes though.  I think the heel needs to be enclosed.  An open toe and an open heel is too much.   I can't find a good pic of me wearing them, but this is the type of shoe I prefer for tights.  I have this pair in nude patent.

I also love tights with open toe booties.

I would totally wear black tights or even a bright color, like purple, with those shoes. But I really like tights. They're not everybody's thing. 

My rule of thumb for fashion is basically, if I feel hot in it, I wear it. If I don't feel hot, I change. Confidence is key to pulling off any look.

I'd wear them with ankle tights! Or would those be leggings?? Idk the difference apparently. Crap.. that blows my fashionista cover!

I say no way to open toed shoes and full-length tights (although it WOULD be ok if the combo was as cute as that illustrated by missintentional). If you're talking leggings, though, which cut at the ankle, I would say that is fine.

I'd do it, and have done it. I have those shoes! Black on black would be awesome with those, but I'm probably only saying that because I've worn it.

I agree with you! My other thought would be footless tights. Or just regular nude stockings, though those aren't as warm as tights.
