PIP your bm dresses

Re: PIP your bm dresses

  • Oooo, K byte, I never knew you had a green wedding. I love those BM dresses, it was so hard to find a good green! *runs to stalk bio*

  • I've missed these parts more than you know, M&M. *sadface* I've been doing well - how are you?

I swooned over those dresses so bad...but then I saw the price tag and thought I would die or throw up. Or maybe do both. I got them made and the girls tweaked the style as they liked. Nobody liked the little scallops on the top and bottom of the bodice but me. :(
  • I think ours looked good on both my girls (a size 12 and a size 2):

Trying it on at the store:

They both liked it. It came with detached spaghetti straps and our seamstress put them in, but only sewed them in the front - so they used them as halter straps later in the night when they were dancing.

It's Alfred Angelo, btw. They were about $150 each.

  • oooh see, I loved the scallops Sept!! I have been doing great!
  • AK - that is so funny about the color! I told my girls they could pick their own style too but they wanted the same! I loved what they picked though.

Yeah I thought that was funny too. When we were looking at our sneak preview, H said - "Wait a minute - that's not peridot!" He was all confused. I don't mind, and I know it was a crazy sunny day so I'm sure she was having all kinds of fun with her camera's light settings.
  • It's the same dress I wore, just knee length and purple.

  • Les, I love your wedding. Besides green, purple is my favorite color because amethyst is my birthstone. I love your bouquets. I kinda want to be one of your BM's :)

  • I concur with Les's wedding love. Purple is my favorite color, too.

  • I love purple. It is funny because it was between purple and brown for my girls and while they looked awesome in brown they thought the purple flowers would get lost. Damn those dresses are gorg.

Thanks, Reddy.  I'd be delighted for you to be one of my BMs.  Those dresses looked so good on my girls, and I love the color.  My bouquet had lavender hydrangeas, cool water roses, poppy pods, and dark purple carnations.  Here's a picture of the big arrangement:

  • Although, one of my bms had all different shaeds of purple for her bm dresses and it did NOT look good. I would pip if I could figure out face shading.

Yeah it was INSANE finding just the right shade of green. I felt kind of silly but I wanted that emerald green dammit! I sort of used tone on tone green with the emerald in the bridesmaids dresses and a lighter/brighter green for some of the bouquets and flowers.

  • I chose a silk tricotine dress from J. Crew.

I think I'll pay for my BMs to have the hem shortened, they are both petite and I'm not sure the current hemline is all that flattering for them.  If it hit right AT the knee I think it would be perfect.

<div>Yeah, man, do I feel you. I wanted a medium, mellow, grass green and it was not happening. It was either bright lime or pastel sage. And don't even get me started on DB's 'kelly' green. I finally gave up and went with something I would want to wear again (dark olive green).</div>

Thanks!  Good to know I am on the right track.  The dresses were a great deal, by the way- I think the color was on sale for $80, which seemed like a great price for a silk dress!  :)

Ahhh that navy dress was all of my girls first choice, but one.  That one proceeded to fizzle out of the wedding/face of the earth (literally, no word or anything to any of our friends since last March I think) so we picked a different one.  I really did like the one they ended up going with though so it all worked out.

  • omg nates, I want that navy dress!
  • Thanks!  I'm having it cut to just below my knees, so it's a sexy shift dress.  Someone else is wearing it long.

  • Stock photo, but in navy blue:

  • Not a great picture...I let my girls each pick out their own short dress in DB's Apple shade.  It looked good on all of them.

  • Oh! J's Best Maid wore a black dress too, with a green wrap and copper velvet shoes. She looked pretty awesome.

  • Yuck I am having the worst time deciding on a BM dress.  I want something teal and short, but apparently there are 100000 shades and different opinions on what teal actually is.  The dresses I've seen so far are either slutty stripper types or 80's prom types.  I think I still have plenty of time to decide.

You've made me scared to PIP mine now, Meg.

But because I love them, and I think they look great, here goes anyway:
