Did someone say smoking fish?

Maybe I'm losing my mind, but I swear to all that's weird in the world, someone here the other day said they hated when people threw cigarette butts on the ground. Because... they would wash into the ocean and fish would smoke them. Am I losing my mind?

I ask because FI and I were watching a peculiar animated short film this morning and that is pretty much exactly what the narrator said, right before this popped up on the screen...

Re: Did someone say smoking fish?

  • Fish can smoke cigarettes now?  What's the world coming too
  • I read a quick article about this and apparently it just seriously affects the water. The butts are fatal to fish. But the fish don't actually smoke them.

    BTW, like your bio!

<div>As an avid fisherman, I get so pissed when I find butts at the waters edge, for this very reason. But, I swear I read almost the exact quote from the movie that screen capture is from on this board the other day. I thought it was outlandish and hilarious when I read it, and I had no idea at the time it was a movie quote. I've got to say, that claymation fish is better than any mental image of a fish smoking I could come up with. </div><div>
</div><div>Oh! Thanks for the compliments on the bio. I've got to update it with the menu now that we've found a caterer. We have a caterer! Yippee! I don't have to self-cater! Woo hoo!</div>

  • I totally thought this thread would have been about Scandinavian cuisine.
