What is your calorie intake each day?

Re: What is your calorie intake each day?

  • If you are in Rome, they have a great chinese sushi place. I could try to find out the name for you.

I guess I sort of do my own version of calorie counting, its just called "good vs bad."  If its a good food (lean protein, veggies, fruit and other such things) I'll eat it.  If its not (fast food, greasy deep fried things) I most likely won't.   And I'll use a vague mental note of well I've been eating recently when considering the tirimsu.    That's really kind of the same thing, just no numbers.    For me personally I find maintaining a healthy way of eating is  best accomplished when I keep it in generalities instead of analyzing it down to the calorie.

I guess this is a good time to admit I can't add past single digits.  That probably has a lot to do with it.

"Whatever East. You're just mad I RSVP'd "lame" to your pre-wedding sleepover."
  • I can't add past single digits w/o a calculator. :)
I think counting calories can turn into an unhealthy habit and you have to watch out.

  • This whole conversation has made my head hurt.

I never thought I ate badly (never fast food, always the "healthy" lunch options), then I actually tracked what I ate.  Holy god, it was more than I ever thought.

I cut myself down to 1700 a day (based around dailyplate.com) and I find that difficult to stay at.  My body needs (and enjoys) food, apparently.  But, it also really likes wine.

    Tricky.
  • I try to stay under 1500. I have been bad the past couple of weekends but I don't want to know how bad...I was trying to track my calories but its so hard im falling off the wagon.

  • Too much. I don't even want to think about it.

  • Ang, I don't know if you're still looking at this or not. I'm not exactly sure what my intake is; I haven't measured it in the past 6 years. My guess would be between 800 - 1100 calories. I'm trying to increase my protein intake, mostly.
I'm so limited in what I can consume at any sitting, it's hard to get 1200+ in a day.

Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • I have no clue, to be honest. Most of the time the only things I'm eating are things we've made ourselves, so I have no clue how many calories are in there. All I know is that I try to keep a balance in what I'm eating and minimise the chocolate.

  • I think I stick between 1100-1300 but I really have no clue...I keep a rough idea in my head but I don't measure or know how many calories are in things unless its listed.
  • It ranges from 1500-2000. I used to do 1200-1500, but I actually had to bump it up when I realized I was burning 3500 calories some days. Oops.
