Wagner our reception is 8:30-11:30.  I thought that sounded like so much time, but it's not.  We do our first dance, eat, cut the cake and go home pretty much.  If we don't do the reveal, we have to leave after the first dance and then come back.  Which wouldn't be the end of the world.  However, after discussing it last night, we decided to do it.  For us, it just makes more practical sense. I never thought I would do it and I'm just a teensy bit sad.  But the moment is special no matter when you do it.  And for us, I think it will work better.

Late to the party, but I wanted to say my reception timeline was the same as yours. We did a reveal and I am so glad we did. It was our special time alone. I had a horrible morning and needed him to calm me down prior to the ceremony. I am so thankful for that time alone because believe me, the reception flew by. There would have been no time for pictures together after the ceremony. The reveal pictures are also my very favorite of our entire wedding day. Also, Mandy's video of the reveal literally made me cry. It was so sweet.

Well, after going over the timeline, I don't see how we have enough time WITH the reveal!  This is so frustrating.  I have an e-mail in to Lynn--maybe she'll know something I don't.  But we had 2 hours scheduled before the wedding, and we still only have those same 2 hours but now we have to add a reveal!I think I give up.

Stephie- We did photos and a reveal within an hour and half before we left for the ceremony. It worked out fine- we had 2 shooters and I had a well prepared list before time of the photos we wanted (I would suggest letting the family know though the plan and order in advance because we were going in order and shots with my inlaws were last and they kept asking to go first which was just confusing the plan-- because they had to go pick an uncle up at the hotel! Stress I didn't need!!) . I would have been nice to have maybe an extra 15 mins so not to rush as much. Our reception was 5:30 - 9:00 immediately after the ceremony and it went fast! I almost wished we had another half hour BUT it probably was perfect as is, in retrospect. Is it possible for you to add a half hour onto your reception now? Then if you run 15 mins late or so on pics, so what. I think it's better to keep people waiting at the beginning than be MIA taking pics in the middle. Also we did not do toast, no bouquet and no garter so that gave us more time to just enjoy the reception, and for the dance, we danced toegether than each grabbed our parent and danced, and then opened the dance floor, all in one long song. That worked well for us too. The reveal will be special!! And after that walking down the aisle to him will be special too!

BTW, I just saw your shower pics in your bio. I LOVE that dress, and the shoes, and the bag. Gorgeous!

Awww, thanks!  Well, Lynn emailed me back the new timeline and she says we can do it all.  And then we'll have time after the ceremony for our formal portaits of just us and won't have to miss the reception.  The more we talk about the idea of a reveal, the more we like it.We met with Glenn today.  I like him more every time I meet with him.  We talked about you and your wedding!  I cannot wait to have him for our reception and feel so confident putting it all in his hands.

sorry Steph I am just now getting back to old posts.  So I am glad you figured it out!! Did you want a short reception or was that how the venue worked?  If you have your planner on it, she will know how to make it flow effortlessly!! it will be fabulous!
