Re: Morning

  • Morning.

Last night H brought home an antique music box that belonged to his grandparents, check this baby out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unVmuniyi_E&feature=youtu.be We have a couple dozen of the song disks, it's really cool.

  • Morning. H and I went to quiz night with a couple of our friends and stayed out WAY too late. I think I got maybe 3 hours of sleep. This morning has been rough. I'm already looking forward to a nap.

Tonight we're having dinner (sushi) with the same friends from last night. Not sure if I'm up for much more than that, though.

It's supposed to be pretty rainy today and tomorrow, so I'm hoping it's gone by Sunday so that H & I can go running through the battlefields.

  • I stayed up way too late and am paying for it today. 7 more hours and I can go home for a nap.

Supposedly they are giving us a catered lunch today from Tiajuana Flats (usually we get crappy pizza). I love this place, so it may outweigh the fact that I have to eat in the break room with everyone else. I like to eat at my desk in privacy. Maybe I can sneak past everyone.
  • Pirate, that's pretty cool- how old is the box?

    Mehg, what is quiz night?
  • I'm at work. I am really anti-work today and this is the best place to not do my job.

The music box is kewl, Pirate. I enjoy older items like that.

  • That music box is awesome, pirate. I'd play that music all the time.

  • Good morning!!

H and I are going to a late dinner tonight at a restaurant feautred on the Travel Channel, I'm pumped for some fish tacos!

A girl from HS posted a blog this morning about how her and her H havent even started trying for a baby yet but to alleviate her anxiety went in for a fertility check up-and found that she will have a very hard time having kids. I have no idea why but right now all I want to do is call my gyn and set up a check for myself.

Kate, I read Divergent but haven't gotten around to that one either.

Our last houseguests left early this morning. H's family is still in their rental house in the next town over, but at least we have a little space. Kieran is popping his 6th tooth, so he was up foor most of the night, so we are pretty beat. It has been a crazy week.

Today shoild be interesting round these parts.

  • Morning!

I still can't get over yesterday.  Craziness.  I am SO glad it's Friday.  My stomach is a bit weird today so I'm hoping I can get everything done so I can get out of here around 3:45.  That way I will have put in almost enough time for the day while getting everything done.

Tomorrow is my bachelorette party.  I'm a little bummed because all of my FSILs randomly said that they can't go and one of them is IN the wedding.  I'm being emotional but it just sucks.  Whenever it comes to just "hanging out" with them they always seem to bail and one didn't even come to my shower.  I guess I shouldn't expect so much since I'm not "blood" KWIM?  I also just need to relax about the whole deal.  I jokingly told FI that I must smell or something because it's like pulling teeth to do anything with his sisters ;)
  • Sesh, jinx.

Kate, quiz night is so much fun! I had typed out a whole explanation, but it made no sense coming from my sleep-deprived brain, so I'll just let Wiki explain it: Pub Quiz.

Im off today and just got a text from Adam "The car is fucked", and immediately after I heard him come back into the house. The rear passenger wheel will not turn at all. He managed to get back NEAR our drive way (not in, but atleast off the road) and now we are trying to figure out wtf to do. He cant seem to steer or turn the car at all, it will only go straight and he needs to turn in order to get back into the drive way. Now im trying to figure out wtf to do because we keep fixing this god damn thing so do I call CAA to tow it somewhere and have to pay to get it fixed? Or do we just get them to tow it back into the drive way? Should we just go buy a new car (weve been considering it for the past year)? If so, wtf do we do with the gd car if we cant drive it?

*sigh* coincidentally, Adam gets a bonus this pay. Of fucking course the car craps out right now.
  • Lbarr, that really sucks. I don't understand why people don't even try to make an effort to be friendly towards someone you will be spending time with for the rest of your life.

  • Morning! I'm sitting in the most boring training ever right now. It's one of those self help things that my department is requiring everyone to do. If I can get away with it, I'll be reading TK on my phone all day. Tonight I'm baking a strawberry cake, cleaning house, grocery shopping, and waiting for the ILs to get here. Basically, everything I'd rather be doing right now instead of sitting in this training. Have a great day, ladies! And sorry if this looks screwed up, I'm on TK mobile.

  • Nebb, that sucks, and is a random thing to break.   I vote get a new car and donate this one.  Wherever you donate it to can come pick it up from its near the driveway position.

This happened to my first car. The axel basically disengaed from the wheel. It was a piece of shitt car, so we didn't fix it because it would be more than the car was worth.

Funny story though - I was very familar with the tow truck driver that came because he had to tow it multiple times in the past. He figured out immediately what the problem was, and I told him we were junking it. He asked if we were sure, and  when we said yes, he punched the hood really hard. The axel broke off the other wheel, the two wheels fell off the car, and the front part of the car just slammed to the ground. It was pretty cool to see the car just disintergrate. The driver told us he had always wanted to do that. Of course, it made towing the car away a little more difficult.

  • I wish I could watch Youtube. That sounds awesome Pirate.

Have fun at your bach party lbarr! Any idea of the plans?

I am sooo glad it's Friday. This week just dragged on so much.  We're headedu p to H's family's hunting cabin this weekend to start getting stuff set fo this fall.  This is the first time the whole family will be together (except the wedding weekend) since liek March.  I'm excited.  We're going to attempt to do a nicer posed family photo tomorrow as well.  With our nephew (who is not even 2 yet) it could get a little interesting to get him to even look at the camera. We have nobody to actually snap the photos, so SIL and I are both settign up our good cameras on tripods, setting the timer and hoping for the best lol.  It could get interesting.

I'm not looking forward to more MIL time, but at least we'll all be up there and nephew will be up tehre to keep her occupied.
  • Wow, alli. That would be kind of cool to see. I'd probably get a new car too, nebb, if you are having that many issues with it. Might as well put the money toward a better car than keep fixing up a junker.

Shay, is it an all-day thing? That would be torture.

lol I can imagine that felt good to do though. Adams car is a piece of shitt too, its a 2004 dodge sx (i know, I know) and its just fucking garbage. We keep having to fix things and its kind of just like, enough is enough.

Thank Christ it waited until today to do this, and not last weekend when we were in Montreal.
  • Morning! Sesh, I like to eat at my desk, too. it's usually the only quiet time of the day. I want to do a pub quiz -there are a few right around us, but we just haven't made it out for.one yet. Today I'm just cleaning a little and then heading out with my best friend and her kid. Should be fun.
  • Morning!

I'm not sure if anything I post is visible, so if I'm talking to myself, well...it wouldn't be the first time.  Or the last.

FI's cousin's wedding is this weekend and I've baked 7 different types of cookies and fudge.  I'm definitely getting fatter here.  Not a great idea on my part.

  • Aww, Lbarr, hope you have a great time. SIL's are a weird thing, truthfully. I'm jealous of people that have awesome relationships with theirs.

Nebb- I vote new (to you) car. You may be able to find somewhere to trade it in, even in it's state.

  • Nebb that about the car.

Chels, we are doing dinner at the hotel we are staying at and then going to a bar or two.  Nothing too crazy.  It should actually be a pretty laid back evening which I'm happy about... if anyone shows up ;)
  • Alli, that would have been crazy to see lol. Sesh, yes. Nine awful hours of torture. I also had to do it last Friday because it's a two day training. I'm so tired of thinking about and talking about my feelings. Also, Tijuana Flats is freaking awesome so color me jealous.

The one we go to is ok, not the best. They don't have many rules, just 'no cell phones', so there have been times where we're up against a team of 15 people at one table. No shiitt they're gonna win, they have triple or quadruple the amount of people we have. That's frustrating to me.

The one we went to back in FL had a rule of no more than 6 per team (this also kept people from pushing tables together, which can make it a PITA for the wait staff), and they had an electronic buzz-in system for answering questions. If you were right when you buzzed in, it recorded your score electronically. They also had different types of rounds (charades, name that song, etc), which kept it interesting.

  • Pub quizzes are fun. A lot of bars here have these little portable computer-like things that are hooked up to the quiz.  The questions pop on teh screen and they're all multiple choice.  You just ring in your answer.  Most bars have it that the winner of any given game (usually 3 rounds of 10 questions) wins a free drink or something.

  • Also, TK mobile says someone's post can't be displayed because they're blocked. I have never blocked anyone so I have no idea who it could be and it doesn't give me the option to unblock whoever it is. It's probably TK mobile being stupid, as usual.

  • Chels - I'm not sure which type of prize I would prefer getting: cash (from the pool of money that each person chips in to play), or like a discount/free stuff from the bar. We've never won, but have come close (third place, got half off an appetizer on our next visit).

H & I are very competitive, so it's usually best if we have other people with us to make a team, otherwise we bicker too much and start getting pissed about losing.
