Tide!

So. I've worked this into every thread I possibily could, but I think this deserves a more direct approach. TWINS?! So exciting! When did you find out? When are you due? Are you ecstatic? Do twins run in your family? TELL ME! TELL ME! Laughing

Re: Tide!

  • I want to know, too!  I can't imagine popping two people out of myself in quick succession.

    Hey!  To answer your questions:

We found out about the twins on Tuesday.  I was actually not so shocked.  I had a feeling that I was going to have more than one; I had been having dreams about multiples all week.  When the sonogram came up, and showed the two chambers, my first reaction before the doctor even said anything was "No. Freaking. Way."

The official due date is May 12th, 2011, however twins are considered full term at 38 weeks.  If I make it that far, they'll probably induce, which would make the due date sometime in late April.

Twins do not run in my family, and I certainly was not taking any baby making drugs, so this was a complete surprise for everyone.

DH and I are excited and scared about the prospect of having 3 kids under 2 years old.  For me, the excitement is tempered by the reality that this is now a high risk pregnancy.  Starting at 20 weeks, I have a sonogram every 2 weeks, to make sure they are both ok, and growing at the same rate.  I'm more at risk of premature labor, which scares the crap out of me.

Chances are that I'm going to lose Trooper.  If he goes unworked for more than 45 days, he gets sent back to the training center.  I wouldn't worry about it so much if it were a normal pregnancy.  I could just take 6 weeks of maternity leave and then go back to work within that time period.  However, there's a very good chance that I'll  be forced onto light duty when my stomach gets sofuckinghuge that I can't walk, or, worse, have to go on bed rest.  Whether or not I would be able to get him back is up to the field office and the training center.

But, I have to admit that it's cool to be able to say that I'm having twins :)
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!

  • I'm so excited for you! I know this is a challenge, but I think you and your H will raise your kids in such a positive, loving environment, your house will be a very fun place! I can't believe you were having dreams about multiples! That is CRAZY! I'm sorry to hear about Trooper though. Just take it day by day and stay positive! Give us lots of updates!
