Invitations

We are getting ready to order our invitations soon and I was thinking about what I need to order.  I know we obviously need an RSVP card but is an enclosure card necessary?  I am also wondering how I could get the directions to everyone since the venue can be a little tricky getting to.  You can only put the actual address of the venue into the GPS and not the name of venue or else it brings you down a dirt road that leads nowhere (FI and I had this problem the first time we went and looked at the venue).  I was thinking that maybe I could just include the directions that we received from the venue but I don't know how that will look.  It would be a 8x11 piece of paper thrown in there.  Should I just put our wedding website on an enclosure card and they can look for the directions there?

Re: Invitations

  • We have it added to our website and are also just throwing a piece of paper in the invite with the directions on it. Nothing too fancy.

Are you blocking a hotel? If so, I'd suggest doing an Accomodations card so your guests to where the hotel is and when they need to book it by.

  • We are blocking rooms at 2 different hotels in the area.  I have that on our website too but I was thinking it would be a good idea to have a card in the invitation too.

I think I might throw the paper in there too because the directions are a little complicated (the venue is in the country in CT).  I don't want anyone getting lost or going down a wrong road that is a dead end.  Our coordinator told us this has happened many times and once it was with 2 large greyhound buses with all the guests in them.  It wasn't too easy for them to turn around!

We are having an enclosure card. The card lets people know we will not be having a traditional reception afterwards. On the back of the card my FI made a pretty map of where the ceremony/reception site is located (he is awesome with that kind of stuff). We also have the address on the invite and a GPS will take you right there. The park is easy to find. Getting to our actual pavilion is more complicated (further back in the park). We are going to have signs the day of directing people where to turn. Since your directions are more complicated I think including an 8x11 would be fine. We are also having a RSVP card obviously. We may also include a card in there about hotel blocks (we have not blocked rooms yet anywhere).
