Is anyone else writing their own vows for their ceremony? FI and I are writing our own vows (along with creating our own ceremony) and I was just curious if anyone else was writing their own as I have been working on my vows the past few days.
ETA: We are getting our vows burned into the side of the memory box I have mentioned before which is why I am working on them already (have to get them burned, box needs to be stained and then shipped from Vancouver to MI and go through customs)
Re: Writing your own vows?
[QUOTE]We are not doing our own. Just thinking about that would make me super nervous!

I was not very keen on the idea at first. FI really wanted to write his own. When I was trying to write our ceremony (using the many versions our officiant gave us as reference) I could not find any vows that I liked. They were all so generic and had no meaning to us personally. That made me decide making personal vows was the way to go and FI was happy with that decision (obviously).
[QUOTE]I, too, am creating our own ceremony and we're writing our own vows. Like what SilverSarah said, it never really occured to me to use any sort of standard vows. OP, I dig your memory box idea - very cool!

Thanks! We always knew we were going to create our own ceremony. The vows I was not sure about (I am not the biggest fan of public speaking in general). Once I started realizing how limited the pre made vows are I immediately wanted to write my own.
