Wedding Shoes

Any other October brides picked out their wedding shoes yet? Mine just arrived the other day. I went with Benjamin Adams shoes named Catherine. The shoes are very sparkly and the perfect heel height for me. my FI and I are pretty close in height so I only wanted a 3 inch heel for the wedding. Here's a link to the shoes on shoebox.com: http://www.shoebuy.com/benjamin-adams-london-catherine/481885/1018845 He has lots of pretty wedding shoes in different heel heights, if anyone is still looking for wedding shoes.

Re: Wedding Shoes

  • Very pretty! I got mine for x-mas, just trying to get them broken in at this point. I think I might wear them today to go pick out bridesmaid dresses. :)

Great googly-moogly, those shoes cost more than my dress! I'd be afraid of breaking the heel or something because I fail at walking in heels.

Because of the aforementioned inability to walk in heels, I'm wearing just some plain flats that I'll be able to wear again -- I'm really leaning toward these (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.payless.com/store/product/detail.jsp?catId=cat10088&subCatId=cat40116&skuId=097117080&productId=69922&lotId=097117&category=&catdisplayName=Womens">click</a>). When I tried on my wedding dress, I was wearing these (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.payless.com/store/product/detail.jsp?catId=cat10088&subCatId=cat10276&skuId=129922110&productId=66974&lotId=129922&category=&catdisplayName=Womens">click</a>) and it was the perfect height, so flats should be perfect and comfortable.

  • As much as I want a really good, one time good reason to purchase Louboutins I am opting for a shoe that fit's into my normal shoe budget and I am really looking for a pair I will wear again.

The other night I ordered 3 pairs from DSW online.  Once I get them I will go visit my dress which is being stored at the store I bought it at and I will pick one.  I am a good half foot shorter than FI and LOVE to wear heels.
    S'mores. Just S'mores please.
  • I am a bit of a shoe person - I do own Louboutins, but will not be wearing anything like those for my wedding. I went with a pair that the store had and I used to try on the dresses. I wore them for a while and just liked them. They are peep toe with a bit of bling on top, and ivory satin, with a small wedge heel. I am 5'10", FI is 6'0" so I didn't want a high heel and I love flats/small wedges anyway.

They were under $100 and just seemed "right." I will probably not ever wear them againbut they will be attractive and comfortable for the day. I just thought it was the sensible, good choice.

<div>This! I totally wanted to buy Louboutins for my wedding but they don't make them in sensible heights - I am definitely not coordinated enough to walk in super high heels.</div>

  • Yes! I love my shoes! I am not a fan of traditional sparkly high heels because I'm really not coordinated enough for them. So I chose something that goes more with my style while being just a bit different. These are my shoes (from ModCloth for an awesome price!)

  • I ended up buying the ones I linked to earlier. They were on sale, so they were $18.57 :D!

They do! I have some!  He also make flats, which aren't as exciting, but they are very pretty shoes.

  • I am not one to wear heels... Ever! My fiancé always makes fun when I try. (all in good fun of course) He is nearly a foot taller than I but I am going for comfort and walk-ability and wearing ivory sparkly Toms. I wanted to wear navy ones as my something blue and navy is one of our wedding colors but my mother begged me not to so we compromised with the ivory ones.

    <div>My thoughts also!</div><div>
</div><div>And by the way, I bought some Steve Madden blue suede ballet flats (<a href="https://www.google.com/shopping/product/2603065765735838329?q=steve%20madden%20blue%20suede%20flats&sa=X&ei=33UrUeGpK4WB0AH2-IDQDg&ved=0CJMBEL8TMAc" rel="nofollow">clicky</a>) but then I saw the ones that you ended up buying (the American Eagle blue flats) and I was bummed that I hadn't found them before!  Oh well.</div>

  • I thought about getting Louboutins also, since I always loved the red under.  I ended up getting my shoes on sale from DSW, FI got me a g/c for there among the Christmas presents.  Cause it's me and I love red, I got these shoes in the red:http://www.dsw.com/shoe/lulu+townsend+mira+pump?prodId=255098&activeCats=cat10006,cat20006

However, I got them at Saks Off Fifth for a third of that price using a gift card.  I couldn't buy shoes that cost more than my dress or a year of diaper inserts!

  • ironmom, I love your shoes.  I thought about getting similar ones to those in red, but went with the cheaper alternative.
  • Holy crap batman, those are some expensive shoes. I also went with a pair that I will be able to wear with a lot of different things. They were only $65 too. Are you going to be wearing those all night?

I bought the shoes before the dress - that just shoes how much I love the shoes!! And they match the dress perfectly!
  • Wow! Yes some of those shoes are much more than my dress. I got a used (but perfect) dress for $150 that came with an unused tiara and veil.

    These are my shoes:

  • I think shoes are one of those things that are unique to each bride.  My shoes were roughly $50+ but I'm guaranteed to wear them again since I love red shoes.  I probably spent slightly more on my dress than most, $1200, and my under stuff was $75, but I never bought a prom dress or any of that stuff in high school.
  • Yea, my clothes for the day are one of the things that I decided I wanted to splurge on - though I still cant justify buying my Louboutins. I love the Badgley Mischka Lacie shoes, but I don't want to spend that much on shoes. I found some pretty Ivanka Trump shoes online that I ordered - so I will see when I get them if i like them! They were half the cost of the Badgleys, and I had a great coupon that took $40 off the price, so they weren't crazy expensive ($120 - which i've spent on shoes before! Which may or may not be a good thing).
