Send a thank you note for a wedding gift we already received?

Do I wait to send a thank you note.. we got a wedding gift in last nighto
or do I send it now?

We got a check with an rsvp decline, and I sent the thank you note out immediately the following day. If they're not attending the wedding then send it now, if they ARE attending the wedding I might wait until after and say that it was great to have them at the wedding.

Even if they are attending, don't wait. Send it now. They'll be glad to know it was received on time and in one piece (:

I am sending my thank yous no more than one day after I get each gift. I like being prompt, and as a gift-giver, I have always liked a fast thank-you. I just have a box of thank you notes, stamps, and a pen in my wedding tote with my binder. I carry around my checkbook too (lord help me I am turning into my mother!) for the random vendors who don't do credit card.
