Update on mismatched bridesmaid dresses!

Hi everyone, a few months ago, I posted about dresses I ordered from Dessy that came in and were totally different colors, though they were supposed to be the same. Well, I am happy to report that after two months, countless calls to the shop AND directly to Dessy, we just picked up our 5 matching Cameo bridesmaid dresses, and they are lovely. Whew! Really makes me wonder what the heck happened to the first set that they were so off color. Anyway, just wanted to share that all is right in bridesmaid land today. Thank you all for your words of encouragement!

  • Whew....that sounded like tons of stress! Congrats things are now in order with your BM dress! Now that is one BIG check off your list!
  • Glad things worked out for you!! :)  That must feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of your shoulders!

  • Thank goodness this all got taken care of. Did they ever explain to you what actually happened? I know when my BM dresses were ordered, I was told I had to wait til all the ladies got fitted before they would order them so that they would be all out of the same dye lot.

  • I'm glad it worked out! Congrats on the check (: I'd be interested to know what their explanation was for the weird colors, too.
  • They kept insisting it was the fabric that I ordered (Nu Georgette and Lux Chiffon), but I saw a few different fabrics in that color, and none of them looked like the beigey and rose colors that my dresses wound up being. They processed the whole order together, so I think Dessy just made a really bad batch of whatever dye they used for those particular dresses. I had one bridesmaid order her dress from a separate shop, and it came out fine. The store I went to wasn't particularly apologetic about it, and they kind of acted like I was being a pain in their asses, but whatever, they eventually did get it right. Just wish it hadn't been so hard to get to that point. I feel like everything with weddings is so overpriced to begin with, why shouldn't we expect decent service?

Here's the after (sorry, the lighting in this one is terrible, but it's definitely more of the nude pink I was looking for):
