Ideas?

Hello Ladies! I was wondering if you could give me some ideas for a christmas wedding in August.  I don't know which direction I should go with it. I don't want to be too tacky or goudy. Any help would be great!

Christmas themed how?

You could have your colors be red and green, use poinsettias at the tables, maybe some evergreen branches.

But I wouldn't have anything with Santa or Reindeer, etc. That would cross the line from classy to tacky, in my opinion. Especially in August.

so let's clarify, you want Christmas-christmas, or you're just using red, green and white as your colors?

If its Christmas-christmas:
I agree that being understated is a good thing, but a way to evoke the holidays when its not the holidays I'd say is to bring on the glitz and shine. Think, classy holidays. You could do some centerpieces that are red/green/gold ornaments (on sale come Dec.26) in cylinder vases. I'd say, don't mix the colors though. Use one color for each and then put a small cluster together. Surround that with tealight or votive candles and you're good to go. (I like these: click! )

Other ones could have manzanita branches that have a dusting of white/glitter on them, and maybe a couple "crystal" dangly ornaments hanging from them.

You can do classic ivory tablecloths, but add a runner in bold red or green to each table. Consider maybe using shiny bold red or green or gold napkins under your centerpieces instead if you don't like a runner.

Yeah not really sure how you would want to incorporate Christmas into August (one of the hottest months of the year). I personally would either skip that idea, or move your wedding to a winter month so it was more applicable.
