So my fiance applied for a Airlines/visa credit card so we get something back on all the money we're spending. We've been saving quite a bit for the wedding and seems to make sense so that we earn points to travel after the wedding. We're pretty good with finances so we hope to pay evertything off each month for the next six months

Oh yes, everything goes on my Capital One card purely for the miles, and pay it off each month.  I'm hoping the rewards will cover our honeymoon

We've been doing the same thing. Everything on the AmEx earning rewards and paying it off each month.

Yep, it's also beneficial to put as much on credit cards as possible (though pay it off each month - not carrying a balance!) because it protects you under the Consumer Protection Act.  If the vendor doesn't do what is detailed in the contract, like not show up, then you can call the credit card and they'll refund your money and fight the vendor themselves, which saves you the hassle.

We're doing it with a Southwest card and using it for our honeymoon flights!

We did the same thing!  In fact the miles I have earned already have taken a huge chunk of the cost of flying my parents down to the wedding.  :-)

I travel a lot for work and use a Southwest Airlines Visa for all of my work related travel expenses. It is awesome because it helps keep the expenses separate plus I get the points to use toward my own travel! Not sure if it will help with the honeymoon though since we might go abroad.

Yup! I am doing this.Plus I just found out I'm going to China for work, So I will scoop up all those miles.

We've accumulated about 4000 miles so far, so we are almost at another flight.
we have aUS air card.

plus the card comes with an annual companion ticket that we plan to use for hte honeymoon as well!
