welcome bag letter wording

here's my first draft....what do you guys think. all suggestions welcome

Dear Family and Friends,
Welcome to Western New York! We are thrilled that you are here to share in the joy of our wedding celebration. We are so fortunate to have each of you in our lives and feel honored that you have traveled great distances to be with us.

We hope that you will enjoy your stay in Wellsville.  We want this weekend to be as relaxing and fun filled as possible for you. We hope to insure you have everything necessary to make it a memorable weekend.  Please enjoy this welcome bag as a token of our appreciation for you and your support.

Inside you will find a few snacks, pain relievers and antacids (just incase) and a Buffalo regional special “sponge candy”.  You will also find a map of the area, direction cards from the hotel to the rehearsal dinner park, directions to the church, as well as a schedule of events for the weekend.  We can't wait to see you!

Love,

Sabrena and Jacob

Re: welcome bag letter wording

  • Just some editing bits:

I think you mean "ensure" instead of "insure"

"in case" is two separate words

Other than that, I think it sounds good!
  • I agree with PP's suggestions. Also I don't think Western should be capitalized. It sounds great overall.

    Dear Family and Friends,
Welcome to Rhode Island! We want to thank everyone for joining us this weekend, it means so much.  We know that some of our guests have traveled a great distance to be with us, and hope that while in town you get a chance to experience all that Lil’ Rhody has to offer.

Whether you are from near or far, we appreciate everyone making the effort to come celebrate our special day with us. To help you further enjoy your stay, we have included information including maps, tour guides, restaurant recommendations, a weekend itinerary, and our own “guide to Gansett.” Please enjoy your stay!

I would probably put "Lil' Rhody" in quotes since I assume that's a colloquialism. Also, I'd capitalize guide in "Guide to Gansett" since that strikes me as a title. Otherwise, looks good!

  • Those sound great.  What is the purpose of a welcome bag and where do you put them?  How far do they have to travel to do this?
