welcome bags

I decided to do welcome bags for my out of town guests.  I'm going to ask the hotel to either have the in the room or hand them out during check in.  This is what I was thinking of encluding in each bag....am I forgetting anything?  any suggestions?

A personal letter welcoming the guest
2 bottles of water
Can of pringles
map of the area
Schedule of events
individual packets of advil
travel sewing kit
card with important phone numbers
box of "sponge candy"

I feel like I need more,

I think that's a great welcome bucket, and more than enough for the guests.  Heck, the last one I got had stale candy and expired pretzels and that was about it (seriously, the expiration date on pretzels is like FOREVER, how on earth do you manage to do that!!!)

Just checking on one thing in your list - you have a map of the area and timeline of events, but what about an extra copy of directions to the specific events?

Maybe add those little individual packets of Shout Wipes. I do not know how many times I go out of town and find out I got a stain on my outfit and no Shout Wipes.

I would add the shout wipes as well, other than that,  your list looks great!

thanks for the reminder about specific directions!  My FI wants to include a loaf of his store's "area famous" salt rising bread, but I don't know....it's hard to travel home with and there's no toasters in the hotel room lol.

I should totally do these...but I have no idea how many OOT guests are coming yet... and I don't know which one's are staying with family & which one's are gunna book the hotel... hmmm

I think the "shout wipes" sound like a great addition. With the bread, I wouldn't do it personaly for the reasons you mentioned. Maybe there is another kind of bread from his store that can be eaten without toasting/cooking? Like banana nut bread or something. I don't know what kind of "store" it is so forgive me if I'm way off base lol

I would consider including a healthier snack in addition to the pringles. Many people don't eat pringles for that reason. Maybe pretzels, nuts, animal crackers, etc. Doesn't have to be "a piece of fruit" healthy....but you get what I'm saying lol

Maybe some gum or mints?

The basket sounds great just the way it is though... but thought I would give a few suggestions since you felt it needed more

I found the little gold fish cracker boxes (the small ones that look like milk cartons) on sale, and grabbed a bunch for my welcome bags, along with the seasonal sponge candy.  I'm starting to get excited about making the bags (and happy I only have 4 sets of out of town guests LOL)

If they are coming for more than just the day of or have little ones you could include information on the touristy stuff in town...zoos, parks, museums, favorite restaurants, etc.
