BRIDES Invitations from Michaels Question

What is the story on the BRIDES invitations they have?  Has anyone used them.  Are they pretty good quality?I'm on a conquest for a DIY project since its getting cold out soon, and I think it would be awesome to get these out of the way. Also, what do you think about these invitations except replacing the black vertical ribbon down the center with black, and printing the invites with our names in matching pink?(If I can PIP the same way as I post pic in siggy then we will be in business....)

I used them. They're nice invitations. I got a lot of compliments on them. Some of the glue on the pockets melted some (maybe from humidity), but I really didn't care. I just reinforced them with a little regular glue. I think they're some of the nicest DIY invites out there. Great way to save some money.

Thanks Cheryl, that is great info! I've gotten samples from various places and they don't seem to be of any better quality and are 3x as expensive even with coupons.   I LOVE Etsy but I just can't bring myself to pay several dollars per invite either.

I used the Brides collection for my programs and was very pleased.

We didn't get the Brides collection but they are a similar brand and we are very pleased.

If you are crafty, I say go for it.  Alot of girls do this and are very happy with them.  Invitations were very frustrating for me and although I ended up being happy with mine, ITA that overall there is not much difference in quality between Michaels and custom ones.  At least not enough to justify the price difference.

Awesome, thanks! Can anyone tell me percentage off amount of the Michaels coupons that circulate regularly?   I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy these from another knottie or just get them myself.

If you sign up online to receive emails, you get a 50% off one item coupon. And the Sunday newspaper ad regularly has a 40% off coupon as well you can print offline too.

So if I purchase each one individually, I can use a 40% coupon on each one?  This keeps getting better! :)
  • edited December 2011
Yeah.  You can only use the coupon on one regular priced item.Basically, my programs were $40 regular price.  I used the 50% off coupon and got them for $20.

I used them and loved them. I used Hobby Lobby 40% off coupons to buy mine because Michaels will accept those too :)

Those were the exact invites that I used. I had a friend who owns a printing place print them for me in the raised ink... and then when I put them together I used double sided sticky tape instead of the little dots that come with the invites because those took FOREVER!

I used them and I have gotten a lot of compliments on them.  They were the highest quality DIY ones I could find.  Pic in bio.  I used the 50% coupon for registering my email address with them.  Just print off like 4 copies and go to a different Michaels each day or something.  I had FI go and buy a set and then I went and bought a set, then we did the same thing the next day.

Tiffany,I'm thinking of using the same ones too.

Thanks Lindsay!  Tiffnrich and others considering using them-  Apparently I used my 50% coupon already, but there is a 40% on the website right now.  I printed several copies and bought one pack at a time using the coupons.  They were just under $26 for each pack of $40 including tax.  I picked out a yard of fuschia ribbon to test out my theory, and it looks great!   Side by side with my top contender invite from The American Wedding.com ... the BRIDES invitation looks MUCH better...and for half the price!

Awesome! I'm glad you got a great deal on your invites :)

Tiffany..I was just sitting here thinking how much would they be with the 40% off... AWESOME. I'm going to have my mom go with me this weekend and look at them again! I too will probably be changing the ribbon to a hotpink/ fuscia!

Tiff-  I know!  They were $25 something each including tax!  Also, value ribbon is 50% off Oct 11-12 so I'm going to go in and buy all the fuschia ribbon I need.By the way, your Save the Date's are adorable!   Would you mind sharing the Etsy seller who designed them for you?
