miss my rings

I inherited both of my rings from my grandmothers (Fi wanted to get me new ones but it meant alot to me to use these). So I brought them in to a jeweler because they both need to be resized and being so old I wanted the settings checked. Well there is quite a bit of work to be done, especially with the engagement ring. The back of both bands need to be replaced with a thicker piece and all the prongs holding the diamonds have worn very thin and need to be reinforced.

Ths is going to take about 3 weeks . The jeweler said the rings will be ready for pick up on July 30th, just 5 days before the wedding. I am a little nervous that they won't be ready and I'm sad that I won't be able to wear my engagement ring for almost a month. I know I should have taken care of this sooner, I just didn't realize hte extent of the work that would need to be done to both rings.

Awww, I hate that feeling. I had to get my rings resized too, and every morning I'd wake up and see my bare finger and be a little sad. But you will get the rings; my rings were ready early; there's a good chance you might get yours early. I doubt that it will be done late, but no one will notice a substitute ring if I'm wrong.

I am going through the same thing.  We just sent my rings off to be resized before the wedding and I an constantly looking down at my ring finger!  Can't wait for them to get back in 3 weeks!

i only had to be without mine for about 3 days, and I had to wear another ring i have that fits that finger -- just so i wouldn't freak out and think i lost it =P
also, i don't wear my rings to the gym (gymnast), so I wear a thin piece of athletic tape instead - again, just so I don't freak out.

How funny that we get SO used to having something on our hands!

I know the feeling...ive never been a ring person until my engagement ring was placed on my hand lol. Now i cant be without it. One day I ran out out of the house in a hurry to get to work so I forgot to put it on after my shower and I just felt odd all day, just with a ring tan on my finger lol. Id wear another ring on my hand in the time being, just so you dont miss it as much

Every time I've had to bring a piece of jewelry in, it's been done sooner than expected.  5 days before the wedding would still make me nervous, though!
