First Shower Gift

My first shower gift came in yesterday :)It's a double griddle which I am REALLY excited about.

We have a flat griddle now that you plug into the wall but I wanted one for the stove top- especially if we eventually live someplace w a gas stove- it will cook great!

We've rec'd some small engagement gifts, and my parents gave us our shower gift because they didn't want us to go out and buy it before they gave it to us....  new grill, which FI absolutely loves.  Now he cooks dinner every night

this probably sounds silly, but what's the difference between a shower gift and a wedding gift?

I am having a bridal shower on June 9th hosted by my bridesmaids and aunts. My friend couldn't attend so she sent me a gift anyway.
I wasn't even expecting anything fom her except maybe a card, and she ended up sending a really generous gift which was so nice.

My mom got mad that I opened it up, but i had also ordered dresses from macys and so I wasn't sure what was inside the macys package..and they don't gift wrap it..but i decided ill have registry stuff sent to my parents and my mom said she'd bring it anything that arrived to the shower.

That's so exciting!! My guests just got their shower invites 2 days ago and I'm already registry stalking...oy! lol

Shower gift - given at/near time of bridal shower (usually gifts for the bride, for example I got towels, dishcloths,rolling pin, etc.)

Wedding gift - given at/near time of wedding :) (usually gifts for the couple, can be pretty much anything and not necessarily off your registry lol)

OP - Congrats on your gift! :) So exciting to get them isn't it?

My shower is the same day, June 9th! I can't wait! All my mom said about the invites is that they were to be sent out at the beginning of May. So now I'm registry stalking lol. I don't even know for sure if they have gone out yet! FH and I are also moving into our apartment that day. Yes it is going to be a crazy day...

I guess June 9 is a popular shower weekend - that's when mine is too!  I haven't been registry stalking intentionally, but one of my coworkers asked me to show her some of the items that I really wanted but would never buy for myself.  When I was doing that, I saw that a few items had already been purchased, which made me excited.  I know it's not all about the gifts, but it definitely makes everything feel more real

Im not having a shower, but a guest that can't make it to the wedding sent us a bed set...it is exciting and I agree, it really makes it feel so real.  =D

Wowo that's a popular shower date for us ladies!!! My mom thought it was too early but I told her it def. was not!

June 9th for me too!! So excited!! The invites just went out, and there are already a couple items purchased! yay!! I will hopefully be buying a new dress to wear!
