Is it rude NOT to have a snack served?

I don't have a large budget.  I am serving a buffet dinner with lasagna & chicken alfredo (so a hearty meal).  Am I expected to roll out snacks such as pizza around 9-10pm?  It seems that EVERY wedding I've been to in the past 3 years has done this along with offering a candy buffet, for that matter.  I think it's silly because I never eat at home after dinner, and certainly not a meal-type item if I need a snack.  Is anyone else forgoing the 10pm snack?

  • And all along I thought I was being creative by doing pizza and popcorn around 10pm! We live in Northern Illinois and I've never seen snacks besides a desert table.  if your budget doesn't allow it, def. don't be pressured to have them,

I only am doing it because we are eatting dinner at 5 and since the reception is at a private residence I can see us snacking, drinking and dancing until the wee hours or the morning.
