I've been around The Knot for about a year, but only got engaged in April (I know, I know...but at least my guy knew the whole time!). We booked our wedding for next year, September 1st, and I figured I'd rather hang out with you lovely ladies and be a month ahead of the game than the September 2012 group and be leading the pack! So I hope you'll let me be an unofficial August bride and hang out here once in awhile.
About us: I'm 25, work in the recruiting and talent resourcing industry in Miami. I love to run (when the weather's nice), paint, cook, read, and travel! I speak Spanish and a little Mandarin Chinese, and have traveled to about 30 different countries so far (plan to add as many more as I can afford)!
My FI is 28, a law student and a Marine (will be a JAG Officer when he graduates next May). He's a fitness buff, also has a major travel bug, and we love being foodies together - we like exploring new restaurants and cuisines, going wine tasting, and are total microbrew beer snobs!

We've got a lot done already - venue, caterer, florist, DJ, photographers, videographers, dress, shoes, his outfit (uniform, pretty simple!), makeup artist, day-of-coordinator (family friend in the events industry), and hairstylist! I've also created our wedding logo and started working on our Save-the-Dates which we'll send out soon as our wedding is over Labor Day weekend and we want to give people plenty of notice! Still to book is tent & chair rentals and a JOP, but I feel like we're really ahead of the game!
