August 2012 Weddings

RSVP Deadline was today...

And we are STILL missing 32 rsvps. Those are just the cards - there's 67 people unaccounted for. I am so irritated right now. I hope those 32 come in over the next few days because if they don't I'm gonna be pissed considering we sent Save the Dates out at 9 months out, and we sent our invites 2 months ago. AND we've TALKED to some of these people recently and they still didn't send their card in. You've had PLENTY of time to figure your ish out people!

Re: RSVP Deadline was today...

  • Hey I'm right there with you. We still have 108 people left to rsvp and our rsvp date is the 24th. And my mom just texted me and said we didn't get any RSVP's in the mail today. I am not looking forward to calling all of these people... :/
  • I'm going to probably do what they say with calling the opposite side so you don't get roped into long conversations. Clearly I don't wanna chit chat if you couldn't be bothered to mail a SELF ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE back to me ON TIME!!

Our deadline was Wednesday, and we are still waiting on around 15 households. We will start calling tomorrow. It is frustrating that people haven't bothered to fill out and mail back the card. I am having my parents call a lot of people because many of the people who did not respond are distant relatives they wanted me to invite that I hardly know.
  • My deadline was the 3rd. I'm 15 days out and still getting RSVP cards....

  • We are missing responses from 34 people, about 15 households and the deadline was today. We got one RSVP today and none yesterday. What gets me is people who call our parents and say they probably won't make it but still don't send the RSVP. My parents are not hosting the wedding. Please just send the RSVP back so we know for sure.
  • Yeah, people are either lazy or rude, I can't figure out which. I'm hoping I get a lot in the mail tomorrow, and that the post office has just been slow. We have 33 households, accounting for over 70 guests, who haven't responded. And some of them are even IN THE WEDDING PARTY. Our deadline was Wednesday.
  • Our due date was Monday and I have received responses for about 20 guests since then.  We had made a list of 136 guests, we have 91 yes, 12 no and  33 still not accounted for. I have to have a head count to the caterer next week and I think I will have to bump up our count from our original guesstimate of 100.
  • Mine was Friday and still 1/2 unaccounted for! My Mom just got a call from a friend of ours and she asked if she had sent out the RSVP and she said that she had already said they were coming so put them down..Mom has heard that from like 4 ppl...What, it takes 30 seconds to fill it out and put it in the mail..yes/no etc..Im kinda surprised that people just think that because they said they will be there, they don't need to mail the card? Mom paid $$ for those cards and stamps..I guess this week we will be making calls, emails, texting and getting ahold of ppl on FB..I don't feel comfortable breathing down their necks but I need to know for the vendor! grrr! • My due date was Friday and I'm still waiting on 29 households (50 something people) and 99% of them are my FI's side. I have his mother on it but I just can't believe that people are that lazy that they can't send in their rsvp cards in a timely manner. They all got Save the Date's in January and most of the women came to my shower so I don't know what gives. It's really annoying though. I guess people really are clueless when it comes down to things like headcounts.

  • So many people wait until the last minute!

We did ours all online thinking that people would be better about RSVPing, but nope..they're not.  So we called them the day after the RSVP just explaining since it's a destination wedding there's a lot to coordinate and that I'm not trying to be pushy I just have a busy month before the wedding with work travel.  People were really understanding so I recommend going the route of email.  Just say, Wanted to make sure you got the invitation...then ask about the RSVP.

    Good luck ladies!
