Rings on ring pillow

My ring bearer is almost 5 and is so excited and well behaved most of the time for me especially when it comes to anything for the wedding he is so excited, I don't know if I would be ok to tie our rings on the ring pillow right before the ceremony on next Friday, I dont feel like buying little favor rings or something to tie on if i spend anymore money right now i think I am going to have a panic attack.

Re: Rings on ring pillow

  • My ring bearer (my cousin, he's six) seems to take his job very seriously.  My future brother in law just got married, and he didn't put the real ring on the pillow for his son (who is five) and he got really upset! I've decided to just trust the kid with the real rings rather than risking a tantrum!  He'll be heavily supervised, and we'll tie the rings on, so I think it will be fine.
  • My only caution is I've seen best men struggle with untying the rings on a pillow. Because they're the real rings I think it's natural to make sure they are extra secure to the pillow.

  • Tie the crap out of them!!!  Worst case scenario, the best man can whip out a pocket knife and cut the strings!  As long as your ring bearer is able to understand how important his role is and the rings are, you should be ok.  My son was a ring bearer when he was 5 and he carried the real rings down.  We gave him the ring pillow right before he walked down the aisle.  He had no problems.  They tied the rings to the end of the ribbons and he kept arranging them "correctly" on the pillow. It was so cute!

  • I'm planning to put the real rings on. Our ring bearer is almost 9 and will be walking down a short, carpeted aisle. I feel like there's really nowhere for the rings to go! And I do feel silly to be buying fake rings...like, why even have a ring bearer??

  • We are using real rings, too. Tie the ribbon with a bow, not a knot, and you'll be fine.
