Anyone doing Boudoirs?!

Just ordered FI's boudoir photobook :) I ordered a 7 x 9 soft cover book which has a total of 23 pages / 40 photos. :)

I CANNOT wait to give it to him! I did all the photography myself today while I was home alone and did the edits and got it all prepped and then I put it all together on Shutterfly for him while he was sitting on the desktop computer across the room playing WoW. LOL

Anyone else doing a boudoir gift for their FI?

Re: Anyone doing Boudoirs?!

  • I was going to but I dont have the money for it and cant do it myself because I stay home during the day with my 3 year old and I dont need him seeing mommy in her underoos. Plus when I told FI that I had thought about it (pointed it out on pinterest) he didnt seem that interested.

  • I had wanted to do them, but I think I will end up trying to do them for an anniverary.
  • I did them, and my book should be delivered tomorrow. :-) Can't wait to see how the album turned out now that it's all put together.  They were so much fun, and caused me to really work hard at the gym for a few months prior. What I liked most was that they weren't really "nudy" ones. They were suttly "risque."  My FI is going to love them.
  • You took your own photos? How did that work!?
  • Yes I did boudoir pictures but only purchased 1 photo as the book was going to be $2500 and the buy out for the cd was $3500!!! Couldn't believe the prices. The one photo I got was $100, but it's amazing!
  • I did them and they should be in this week! I'm super excited to give them to him on our honeymoon. Probably going to wait a few nights in until things slow down a bit lol.

  • HOLY CRAP rgomez - that's the most expensive thing I've ever heard!!! What the heck?! I've never heard of a boudoir set running that much. Sheesh.

Halie - I have a tripod and a Canon Rebel T2i DSLR. ;) I set it up on a timer with continuous shooting so it would take 10 photos at a time, then I'd change poses during the shots. I ended up taking 1k+ photos and got ~45 really good unique shots out of it LOL.  Granted it's not like it could be with a professional photographer shooting them (and it took a lot longer) but I think they turned out pretty dang well! :)

I'm thinking I'm going to give the book to him the morning of. :D

They're all about that quality, not TOO many closeups though. :)
I think they turned out quite nice! I just used the natural lighting through out bedroom window. Kept it simple :)

  • I totally did my own boudoir shots as well... well I really wanted them done and I couldn't seem to squeeze the amount in the budget.  My sister & I are SUPER close -- best friends.  So she came over and took some shots. (Lol, I know, weird, right?)
But I ordered a soft cover 5x6 "little black book" off of Shutterfly as well!
It came in the mail yesterday, I was super stoked over it.
I'm thinking of giving mine to him the morning of the wedding, having my sister deliver it to him in a gift bag and have the photographer snap a few shots when he opens it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who did some homemade boudoir. Lol

  • I did one and loved how the photos turned out! I feel like maybe I should get a lighting, hair, and make-up person to always follow me around :) Instead of doing a book, my photographer put the photos into a calendar. I plan on having it hidden in our house somewhere and texting him the morning of the wedding the location!

[QUOTE]I was tinkering with the idea, however my schedule isn't very open. I'm probably going to do it as a 1 year anniversary gift.
