Friday WTF!!!

I know it's Friday and not Wednesday but I have a major WTF. We got our invitations in the mail last night and I was super excited. I opened them up, and everything looks perfect!... except the invites themselves. I ordered tea length tri-fold invitations, spent hours designing them, they looked perfect online, I approved them and everything. Somehow, some way, they were printed on the wrong paper! Instead of printing them on the tall, skinny paper, they printed them on shorter, fatter paper - they call it gate-fold or something. It's CLEARLY wrong. I am baffled how they let these invites leave looking like this. My "Reception to Follow" line is literally cut in half. You can see the top part of that sentence but not the bottom. The pattern doesn't even line up with the pre-made folds. If you look at them for half a second you can see that it's wrong, and yet they still shipped them! I am dumbfounded. I have to call them this morning and straighten it out but it's so frustrating! I had my first wedding nightmare last night, haha go figure.

  • Oh gods, I am sooo sorry. I am curious where you went through. I'm looking at a website for my invites. I'm going with simple.

    I want to know too if they will fix or what.
  • Oooooh they better fix it! I will be irate if they give me any hassle whatsoever. We ordered from Magnet Street. We got our STD's from there too and they are perfect. I'm so surprised I'm having to deal with this from this company.

    aww!! Sorry Laurel!!!  Did you double check everything to make sure that it said what kind of paper & such (on your invoice?)

    Edit:  OH! and good thing you ordered now and not at the last minute =)

  • That really sucks!! I'm so glad I am ordering mine now as well I'm paranoid of getting something messed up like that.  Hopefully the fix it quickly and do so without you having to follow up multiple times!

  • Oh no!! Call them right away and explain the situation- it could be their mistake, not yours.

    I had something similar happen to us- we ordered our invites and got them on Tuesday. I was expecting the direction/reception and RSVP cards to be just one sided, 5x4 or something. But they came in double the size with a crest in the middle as if we were supposed to fold them in 1/2 to make it into a folding card. Luckily all of the wording was on the bottom part so we were able to just cut off the top part with a paper cutting box thing (can't think of the word) that I borrowed from work. It killed about 3 hours of our time, but other than that- it seems to be ok.

  • That stinks! Hope you can fix it! That is one of my fears of buying the invites online!

  • I called them this morning and they are going to re-print them. I have to send a couple of the wrong ones back so that my contact there can discuss it with production. It was definitely not my mistake, it was theirs. Everything that I have, including my invoice, has the correct paper listed. I'm hoping everything works out with the new ones!

  • I've heard MS's customer service is excellent, so I'm sure they'll fix it for you with no problem.  What a total pain in the ass, though.

  • I'd definitely be pretty pissed too! Hopefully they realize they made the mistake and fix it with absolutely no issue.
