Halter, Strapless, As Is? PIP

Hey Girls, I went to Becky for my wedding dress yesterday for the first time and we decided that the best way to alter my dress down to my size is to take fabric out of the back by the zipper (which is what I originally thought, anyway), see below “Back view”. And here are my initial thoughts: Original straps: it's a classic look, but maybe too classic (a la 1990's) for me. Halter: I think this feels more comfortable because the straps won't be almost falling off, but it is an outdated look? The photos I've found of this dress online, ironically, have a single halter strap, but a bit wider than the straps my dress came with. If I go for halter, should I do an X cross for the back, do a single loop around the neck (basically bare back), or just tie the two straps together around the neck like swimsuit top style. Strapless: Does this neckline look normal without straps? Or does it look like I cut off some straps?

I'm not a fan of spaghetti straps, so I like the halter or strapless. I'm sure if you go with the strapless Becky could make it look more like it's supposed to be that way. Or, maybe she could make a halter strap out of the extra fabric so it would be wider? Just a thought.

I agree with Banananana re:wider straps. Don't tie it at the neckline like a swimsuit. Have it clip in the back or something but don't tie it. JMO :)

I personally don't like the straps.  I vote strapless.  But the rest is so pretty!

I like halter or the original straps. I usually prefer strapless, but it looks off to me on this particular dress.

I like the wider straps idea, too.  Or strapless.  Gorgeous dress!

I would prefer strapless and I'm quite sure Becky could make it look like it was supposed to be strapless, probably softening the pointy bits up top.

I vote halter with an X cross in the back. It's very beautiful on you!

Gorgeous dress!   I vote halter with X cross also.  Strapless would also look great too though!

Thanks girls for all your input (and please, keep 'em coming!)  Other out of the box ideas are welcome, too.Looks like right now front runner is strapless then halter...I'm definitely leaning towards these two over the original straps, too...I've called Becky so I can go in again and look at some of these options in a couple of weeks.  I'm glad she's so sweet so I'm not afraid to speak up about my indecisiveness!

I like it strapless - strapless is just very elegant to me. It's pretty no matter what though!

I don't like it strapless, it looks off or something. I think the halter is more flattering.

I like the halter too... It looks like it should be that way. I agree with pp that it just doesn't look quite right strapless but if Becky could change it then strapless would be nice too

I think I might go with halter and try to imitate the Melissa Sweet Karalyn and alter the back a little bit to have a little "dip" http://www.priscillaofboston.com/dress_detail.jsp?gid=1&sfid=50939We'll see how the appointment in 2 weeks goes :)

I like the halter, but to me, it makes it just a tad less formal than strapless. So I guess it just depends on what you are going for. Both look great and it's a gorgeous dress!

I actually like the original straps. What does becky think? She can probably judge best. It looks a little off to me too as strapless. I think the halter/crossed is fine too. it is a beautiful dress any which way, really.
