PSA: Fabric Shaver

I bought a fabric shaver last night at walmart for $7 and just had to share the love...If you've never heard of one, it's a little tool that shaves the pills off your clothes--all my sweaters and jackets look brand new now!I bought one because I just bought a knit shirt that started pilling really bad the first time I wore it, but I like it too much to get rid of it. It worked like a charm and I spend most of last evening shaving sweaters, jackets, shirts, and even socks...

Awesome!  I've never heard of anything like this but I'm constantly having to deal with these issues on sweaters.

FYI--this is the one I got:[IMG]http://i35.tinypic.com/25psihk.jpg[/IMG]The brand name is Evercare and it was next to the irons in Wal-Mart--this one apparently has better reviews than some that are $20+, though I just bought what was on the shelf

I've got the same one and it's well worth the $7.  The only problem I have is that it sometimes stops at random - so I have to turn it off, take off the cover, make sure nothing's caught (rarely is something causing it to jam), and then start it up again.  Still not too bad and I'm glad I bought it!

So Lindsey--the steam buddy intrigued me, so I checked it out on Amazon. I don't know if you saw them, but it had a bunch of just terrible reviews! Just wanted to let you know in case you do get it and it doesn't work for you

I have a steamer, I just bought whatever cheap one I found at Walmart. It works really well, but it takes sooo long to heat up! I need one of those shavers, though, I have so many items with pills! I remember my parents used to have one when I was little.

We had one when they first came out and didn't work very well.  However, with new technology, etc, I'll bet they work way better now.

Thanks Marissa - that makes me sad because it looked so cool on TV. I'm addicted to infomercial items! We registered for the Magic Bullet and got it..I used it for the first time yesterday and LOVE it!
