August 2012 Weddings

Weather...

I've only been in the single digits for two days now, but I find myself obsessively checking the 10 day forecast.  I'm not so worried about rain, we would just like it to be under 90 degrees for a change!  So far a cloudy 84 degrees has been predicted!  How is the weather for your weddings?

Re: Weather...

  • Ah! Just checked mine. 87 and sunny, 0% chance of rain.  But 8 days out a lot can change!

  • I posted a parinoid post a few days ago on the outdoor wedding board and another bride told me her husband in a metrologist and he even admits they don't know what they are talking about till 3 days before. I'm going to try to hold off my anixiety till then, haha

I'm having an evening outdoor ceremony on the 17th and a huge tent reception on the 18th. Currently it is looking like rain on the 17th but i'm also testing mother nature two days in a row.

  • As of this morning, it says a high of 88, cloudy with a 10% chance of rain..mine is outside too...I hope my prayers are answered and it isn't like 110 like it was here in Ohio a couple of weeks ago!

This was me :)  trust me...they don't know more than three days in advance....something to keep in mind...if it says 30% rain...that is a 30% in the area, not neccesarily at your location.  Often times they don't even know rain wise until 24 hours.  Mostly because systems shift and move.  All it can take is a 5 mile shift and you could have sunshine instead of rain...

  • Now ours says 80 degrees, stormy, 60% chance of rain. ugh. While rain may be a good omen - I WANT MY OUTDOOR PHOTOS!

  • I have been checking mine too... 9 days out and it's driving me crazy! It goes from sunny to chance of storms back and forth. I'm getting worried! I'll be ok if it rains in the morning and as long as it clears in the afternoon for our ceremony outside. Drought all summer and now we finally start getting some rain? What's up with that? Hoping it changes in my favor over the next week!

  • I have been watching mine and we are at a perfect 78 and partly sunny and I am praying is stays that way! For an August wedding that would be absolutely perfect! :)
  • I just checked right now. The wedding day forcast is showers, 72 degrees. 40% chance of rain.

We are having an outdoor BBQ for the rehearsal dinner the night before. That day shows showers, 71 degrees, 60% chance of rain.

I'm hoping the weather forcast is wrong. :(
  • Anything more than a day or two out tends to be incredibly inaccurate. Yesterday it said cloudy and 79 degrees, 10% chance of rain. We'll see what it says tomorrow! LOL

  • I am checking but not stressing about it, the weather is always changing and if it rains then we move to plan B for the ceremony and put the walls of the tent down!

  • I checked this morning for the 18th 80 degrees with 60 chance of rain. I'm praying I dont have to move my ceremony in. No one kill any spiders.

  • Getting married Saturday and there is a 60-70% chance of thunderstorms. If it's supposedly good luck when it rains on a couple's wedding day, then we will probably have one of the luckiest days ever. :)
  • yesterday i checked mine and it said 86* with 0% chance of rain. Today i checked it and it says 87* with thunderstorms!! I hope that changes my ceremony is outside on the beach!
  • Ours isn't a huge deal because everything's inside, but I would love some outdoor photos!
  • Never even thought to do this. I'm scared to look. Everything is outdoors. It has been extremely hot in Philly all summer with very little rain. My wedding is 6:00 PM so I hope it will have cooled down by then. I think I am more concerned about the bugs than anything,

  • It hasn't rained all summer, and we're in a drought. But the forecast so far says 85 for the high, and 60% chance of thunderstorms.

Our wedding is the Saturday of the county fair, and it ALWAYS rains that day. So I prepped myself for it. Thankfully everything is indoors, but I too, would like some outdoor pictures.
  • My wedding is tomorrow and it's going to be 76 and sunny (!).  Last week they were predicting thunderstorms all day, so definitely take the 10 day forecast with a grain of salt.  Good luck to all the outdoor weddings!
  • LOL Just in a matter of hours since I posted this morning it has changed to a 60% chance of RAIN and 88 degrees and we are having a gazebo wedding outside :( I will be checking everyday now! Yeh, as PP have said, we have been in a drought all summer and now its rain?! Mom said it had something to do with that hurricaine..ugh!

  • 80% chance of rain/thunderstorms. Going to make it difficult to have a beach wedding with those odds.  Luckily we do have a back up plan but I will be very sad if we have to use it.

Most of mine also say rain but I did find a few that say clear or sunny so I'm hoping they're the right ones because I also want my outdoor photos since they're the only ones I planned on besides the church.

  • Checked again this AM and now it is 60% chance of scattered showers and a high of 84...oh lordy!
