First Gift!

We had our 1st wedding gift waiting on our doorstep when we got home from work today!  Its getting soooo exciting!!!!

Do I need to send a thank-you right now, or do I wait until after the wedding when all the thank-you cards go out?  Im not sure what the etiquette is with thank-yous.

I would send one right away before I forget. For me, I have a couple of gifts (3-4) that I haven't sent notes for yet... but that's because I didn't open the boxes yet (I am afraid they won't be gift wrapped) so I really have no idea who sent them.

Us too! We got home and our leasing office had the gifts waiting for us! How exciting is that??

I've asked a bunch of married friends their thought on this. I have been opening them and sending thank you notes right away. As long as you don't start using the gift and then get the thank you out months later I think them sending it early is wanting you to have it now.

I'd send the thank you now, that way you don't forget, and it will help lighten the load of thank yous you have to send after the wedding.
