Marraige Liscence Worries

Hi Ladies!
My wedding is coming up- on the 18th-- my fiance and I applied for our marraige liscence on August 1st at the courthouse but haven't received anything in the mail yet.

We were a little "hazy" on some of the locations of our parents birth (and actually the location of my birth) and know that we got about 4 locations wrong!  Did we screw up the application for the marraige liscence?  Is it not going to come- and then what do we do???

We went to get ours last week, but here in CT you have to go to the town hall in the town that you are getting married in and apply. 

I know that i put my moms birth place wrong but the lady told me they really only needed the state... Im not sure how different the processes is from state to state.or what you need. 

We didn't even need our birth certificates to get it, just a photo id. And we walked out with it right then and there.

Do they mail it to the officiant or church that your getting married at? We had to give ours to our officiant. 

I would call today and ask what the statis (sP? i have no idea how to spell that lol) is of your application. But call today so you have the end of the week and next week to work it out you know.

GAHHH!!  Ok- my fiance neglected to tell me earlier that he did get a receipt in the mail that said that the rest of our needed paperwork would be coming in the mail shortly.

I agree with the bolded part 100%! LOL, I told my FI last night I just want our lives to get back to normal!

Maybe you should call them or stop in to ask them if everything was okay with the license. 

I live in a small town and they told us we could pick in up after the 3 day wait, but they recommended we didn't pick it up until we absolutely needed it to take to the church because of misplacing.lossing it. Because than you would have to reapply for the license.

Since I work till 5 and FI works till 3:30 and our courthouse closes at 4, we are actually going up there the day of the wedding to get our license! No waiting, they give it to you right there..Thank God!

I would call the county in PA you applied in.  I know in Allegheny County and most other counties you just automatically can come back and pick up your license 3 days after applying.  My husband and I got our license in York County as they do not make you come back.  Instead, York gives you a license same day that is postdated for 3 days in the future.
