What name on the placecard?

I was just putting together a list of guests' menu choices so my FMIL could calligraphy each person's name on a color-coded place card and I stumbled onto a dillema: Should my place card have my maiden name or my married name on it? I'll be married before the dinner, but it seems somehow premature to put my new name on the card now. What do you think?

This is a way more fun problem to think about than the RSVP drama we have all been dealing with!

i would do your married name, by the time the cards are actually "used" you are in fact Mrs.Newlastname, plus aren't you going to be announced at the entrnce to your reception as mr and mrs so and so?

Married name. I hadn't even thought about this yet but it's so exciting!

I would do married. I was just at the head table at a wedding where the bride wrote her maiden name and it struck me as a bit odd.

Yes, I would use married name! Like PP said you will be announced as "The New Mr & Mrs. last name". = )
