I have an awesome MOH who has already reserved a room at a nice restaurant for my shower in May. The shower is a little on the early side because she's also pregnant and due a month before the wedding. Back in November, we figured out a date that would work for everyone, including my 18yr old sister who is a BM. The best date for the shower was the day after my sister's HS graduation.
Yesterday....my mom gets a phone call from my sister's school. They've changed graduation to the same date AND time as my shower! I'm so upset. My mom is going to the graduation (of course, I would never expect her to miss that), but that means she could very well miss my entire shower. She plans on leaving as soon as my sister has her diploma, but the school is about 30-40 minutes from the shower location. My MOH has already paid the deposit and had shower invites printed and stamped. So there's basically no way around it! I'm my mom's oldest, my sis is her only other daughter and is the youngest, so naturally, she's very upset (this is my only shower).
Not really looking for a solution, just venting!
I've been near tears all day because of it. Who in the hell changes the graduation date a month and a half out?! A bunch of people (my mom included) have also already ordered graduation announcements that now have an incorrect date, and planned parties that now conflict with the ceremony too.
