Weekend Updates?!

What all did you ladies get done this weekend? WR and NWR?!

Re: Weekend Updates?!

  • hi ladies!
    This weekend was WR stuff
My mom and I went down to my reception site and checked out hotels in the area to decide where i would be getting ready and staying for the night before and the night oof the wedding.

Now we just have to figure out transportation

Sunday was an annoying day. Fiances Car broke down at his work 45 min from home nad we took it in to the only place opened (he works on an island one week a month) and they said that it was an exasy fix. $200 later and a bunch of time, they wernt able to fix it afterall and instead said that we need to bring it to a dealership to fix it (computer issue)

so his car is stuck 45 min away until tomorrow just sittng in a parking lot

we finally got home at like 5:00, I had planned on cooking and cleaning for the game all day, and we said forget it, i was so exhausted we just got take out pizzas and i made a quick buffalo chicken dip and we watched the game, and It was such an upset for the Patriots (wa wa) I'm ok because i am not such a HUGE football fan (Im more of a baseball girl myself- GO SOX). but everyone is in a bad mood around here today and all kinds of hungover or being snobby cuz they are upset about the loss.

I am sure the atmosphere in the NY area is much better on this monday !

  • WR: Made plans with my personal attendant to go shopping for my wedding shoes, unity sand, and to price silk flowers and unity sand vases!!  Got ALL of our names in and have a final guest count for invites (344 holy crap)!!  Continued addressing STDs, and had FI stamp a bunch (with our return address stamp) because I am very bad at it!!

NWR: Saturday went to Menards with FI and spent 2 hours just laughing and shopping around (spent waaaaaay more than we thought we would, but got a lot of rebate items!)!!
Sunday woke up and went perch fishing (in a fishing house) and I caught the 1st and biggest fish (woot woot, only girl fishing there)!!  FI caught the other fish, and it was a teeny one.  We ended up sending my perch back at the end because it is too much work to get all the tools out to fillet just one fish!!  OUr friend was bummed because he missed a walleye (we saw it on the fishing camera, but he lost it on the line)..  After fishing we went to our friends' parents house and had chili and a spicy cheese dip while watching the Super Bowl!!  My friends were rooting for opposite teams, I didn't really care who won (I'm a Vikings fan at heart), but I still enjoyed the game!!  Also, loved the commercials and half time show!!

  • WR: finished picking invitations and waiting for contract, planned out all payments, ordered card box NWR: since we are gutting the kitchen and starting over we picked out tiles, granite, backsplash, faucet and sink, and ordered glass knobs for the cabinets
  • WR- picked out and bought my wedding ring!!!  it's so pretty and i'm so excited about it! FI still has to decide on his...trying to do that before april.

NWR - I made a football field veggie tray for a party we went to. haha. was a bit rediculous, but fun to make!

  • WR: Nothing this weekend. In two weeks we will finally be registering though!

NWR: Watched the super bowl. Laid in bed all weekend because I had a pretty bad cold that kept me in bed. And studied for my exam I had this morning. It was a pretty boring weekend.
  • WR: Had a bridesmaids lunch on Saturday and then went to pick out the bridesmaids dresses! It was such an amazing afternoon with them, and the dress looks fantastic on all of them! I am sooo excited! Also, we looked into potential invitation designs and I worked on potential wording (during the game...took longer than I expected it to!).

NWR: My dad's birthday was Saturday so we had some family over for dinner to celebrate. Both dad and I have been sick with head colds so it was a little more miserable of a birthday than usual. But we're both starting to feel better now so it's all good. Also, I watched the superbowl- well, the commercials and halftime show, and Aaron Rodgers commentating pre-game ;P Packer girl at heart!

NWR: Kept working on finishing the flooring in our kitchen remodel and Fi's parents gave us an early wedding gift for our new kitchen/dining room! a buffet and dining room set!!!! Its beautiful! We have a funeral to go to tomorrow, one of my Fi's best friends and our DJ passed away from a heart attack. Prayers for my Fi at this time would be greatly appreciated!

  • Almost no wedding related things for me, was far to busy with school stuff, me and the finace did however did go to start looking for his ring this weekends, I think we found the one we liked but we are going to wait until my spring break in about a month when I can come home (and start putting some money aside for it) before we officially get it. We will also be going tux shopping at this time and any other odds and ends that will need to be done, probabyl starting the invite adressing just so it's out of the way and all we have to do is send it when the time comes. Spring break is going to be a very busy time...

  • WR: Canceled our STD's because of the delay in communication/didn't get a good vibe when I did get contacted. Contacted the original person I was going to go with on Etsy instead and the communication was much better. Got our proof back, made some adjustments, got another proof back, liked it, ordered our STD's and they are in the process of printing hopefully now! I also started addressing envelopes for them. Additionally, I went through every Etsy seller I could find under invitations (hundreds!) and narrowed down which ones I am going to contact for estimates. Started on a monogram yarn letters....thinking about quitting the project because it is so tedious....although so far it looks good....I just think spray paint or patterned fabric might be better.

NWR: Had two of the groomsmen in town for the weekend/super bowl....so was entertaining them with all sorts of activities.
  • WR: Got a few things at Michael's for DIY projects. Also, started the dum-dum sucker topiaries, but ran out of suckers lol Also finished a few more STDs I had to address. They should all be out now, finally!

NWR: My sister came to visit from NH. We did some shopping and played some Just Dance on the Wii :) Also watched a bunch of Friends episodes on dvd. She left yesterday around 4, then FI and I went to his friend's house to watch the game. I was the only happy one when the Giants won lol (I'm from Indiana and couldn't stand to see the Patriots win on my home turf!)
