Who is Doing a King's Table/Long Table Reception?

My fiance doesn't want to do traditional round tables at our reception, so we are planning 4-5 long tables for 100-125 guests. I like the look of King's tables, but I'm curious about how others are making them work. Where are you putting your dance floor? Do you have "hosts" for each table (your parents, his parents, etc.)

Re: Who is Doing a King's Table/Long Table Reception?

  • We are doing a combo of long and round at our reception. We have 2 tables that seat 16, then the rest seat 8, and our table seats 10. Our room still fits a dance floor, but some of our tables may overflow into the cocktail room depending on how many guests we have. We invited 190, but are hoping for 100 (destination wedding)

  • I hadn't thought about mixing. Thanks for the idea!
