A little late on the invites :-/

I just placed my order for invitations for the wedding on 8/24. They should come in at latest...2 weeks. Which means I will be sending them out a little later than the standard 2-3 months before. Is that super horrible? My mom is freaking out saying we're going to have to call everyone to see if they're going. But to me, all they have to do is take 5 mins out of their day and write a few words on the RSVP card and put it in the mail...how hard is that? Should I be scared that no one is going to RSVP in time?

I'm getting married 8/25 and I'll be sending out my invites on June 29th. Our RSVP date is July 23rd. It sounds like if everything goes as planned, you'll be on a similar schedule to me. You should be fine, so long as you get those puppies out the door soon after receiving them.

Crossing my fingers for you that there aren't any issues getting your invites on time!!

As long as your rsvp date isnt really early then I think youll be fine. Our wedding is the 18th and while my invites are all done and addressed they are still sitting on my table waiting for me to drop them off (im a big time slacker about stuff)...But our rsvp date isnt til July 31st. I think it mostly falls on how early your caterer needs a final head count by...

I've had my invites for some time now, I JUST assembled them last week and this week I am getting the rest of the addresses I need, hopefully they will be mailed out by the weekend..My wedding date is 8/17 with the RSVP's dated 7/20..

I know that TK says 2-3 months before, but I've also seen some sources say 6-8 weeks. So even with your invitations coming in 2 weeks from now, you'll still be within that time frame. I think if you have OOT guests, it's more pertinent to give them a heads up as far in advance as possible. All of my family is OOT, which is why I opted to send the invites a tad on the early side (I think I dropped them in the mail on June 1st). My FMIL thought I was sending them out early, too.

So I think you'll be just fine. Plus, if you sent out save-the-dates, then you should be extra fine.

Yeah did you do save the dates?  That already gave everyone a heads up.  I am an 8/24 bride and I still have my invites at my parents house addressed and pretty much ready to go, yet I'm not sending mine out until June 22nd with an RSVP date of July 20th.  You should be fine, you may have to address them and stuff fast but I don't think you are going to be late at all.

Thanks everyone! I feel a lot better. I did send out STDs and my RSVP date is 8/1 and they must book their hotel by 7/24.

This is my exact schedule. the invite woman is getting me my invites on 6-18 then i am bringing them to the post office to secure the postage, and going home to stamp them.I assume they will go out around the 20th-22nd...if i can't get them all stamped and out that day, i am going to work on the West Coast invites first so those get out immediately leaving me a day or two to finish our East Coast invites.

I'm August 25 and I got my invites 2 weeks ago but we are still finalizing labels for the envelopes, etc.  I hope to stuff them this weekend and get them out early next week.  Screw the "timelines!"

My date is Aug 18, RSVP July 18, and I'm hoping to get them out this week.  FI had a few more addresses he needs to get (and is procrastinating) and I told him I refuse to send the rest of the invites until he gets me those addresses!

Sara's timeline matches ours to the day. We have everything ready to mail and we will be sending them out on Friday. We are just waiting to get our engagement photos back later this week so we can have our wedding website finished when we send out invites.

I am sending my invites out on Monday with a RSVP date of August 15 for my August 31 wedding, I am sure that you will have plenty of time! Just allow two weeks before to get the final numbers!

I'm a little panicked about this as well. To my understanding my invites were supposed to go out 8 weeks before the wedding which is next weekend (22-24). My invite ladies however said they won't be ready until next week, so depending on what day I get them, I still have to get them stamped and mailed. Plus I want to write a number on the back of each rsvp card and we have to stuff the directions to the various places in the envelopes. (all things my invite lades were going to charge more for)
 My rsvp date is July 20th so people are basically going to have less than 4 weeks to respond. I chose the early date thinking that the invites would go out right at 4 weeks before the rsvp date. I guess it's not a big deal as long as I get the invites in my hands next week some time, but still unnecessary stress!
