Stupid Post Office! (vent)

I've now heard from two people who never got the invites I mailed out last Tuesday. One of them is my mom and the other one is one of the groomsmen. I mailed everything together, and put all the invites in our out box at work that goes straight to the post office. I don't know how they could have gotten lost or who else might not have gotten theirs. ARGH, guess I'll have to call the post office tomorrow to see what's going on.

I thought that happened with a bunch of mine.  Turns out I never even mailed them.  They were lost in the box.  

When did you mail them?  It sometimes takes a week or 2 depending on how far and the local post system.

This blows my mind, I have never (knock on wood!) had anything "lost" in the mail. How does this happen? We mailed out 125 invites so if it does happen odds are good 1 or 2 of ours may get lost out there....

When we sent our save-the-dates from Miami (where we were living at the time), about 1/3 of them didn't make it to their destination on time.  My family and friends reported getting them as late as April - postmarked in January when we sent them!  I have no idea how many didn't make it to FI's family and friends since I don't know them to check with them.

Right now I know about 2 of them that haven't arrived (of 75 that were sent). One was to my mom and the other to one of the groomsmen (at least I know how those two are RSVP'ing anyway!). I'll give it another week or so before checking with the post office, just in case they are still in transit. One was only going from DC to Alexandria, VA, so that should have arrived pretty quickly, but we'll see. I ordered a bunch of extras, just in case something like this happened, so if I have to send new ones, it's not a huge deal. I've been a little stressed this week, so I'm just having a little freak out. Thanks for listening, ladies!

I know of at least one of mine not making it to the destination, which is only 2 hours from here... We are in Cincinnati and the invite was going to Columbus... but our invite did make it to Saudi Arabia to a cousin who is a teacher over there! WTH? How does this happen??? Stamps aren't cheap... I expect my mail to make it there...how are we supposed to know that everyone even go their invite? I guess I'll find out when they don't RSVP and I have to call them? soooooo frustrating... I feel your pain...

I had the same problem...we sent ours out on May 6, and the best man called my FI today and said he just got his today...I guess the only thing to do is wait and see who doesn't RSVP. I can't afford to make and send out any more invitations!!!

I second this, I haven't put ours in the mail yet, just finishing addressing them all and the goal is to put them all in the mail this weekend. Fingers crossed they all get where they need to go !

OMG this makes me nervous... I'm also in Cincy with several guests in Columbus - Our date is Aug. 25th and I was waiting til June. 25th to send them, but this makes me want to drop my invites in the mail *right now*
