tipping help

I tried to ask on the etiquette board, but they were useless.

I am so confused on who to tip and how much.

Photobooth attendents?
Horse and Carriage driver? (may be the owner)
1 DJ and an emcee who will also be our JP - I was thinking possibly 50 for DJ and 100 for Emcee/JP?
Flower lady(owns her own business)?
Photographer(owns his own business)?
Cake delivery(already charged for delivery and setup)?

I already plan to tip the hair/makeup artist, limo gratuity is included, and venue/food gratuity is included
I think that's it. TIA!!

Re: tipping help

  • Generally a tip isn't required if the person giving the services is the owner. We are not giving tips to our photographer, florist or baker because they all own their own business and do the service on their own. You wouldn't need to give an extra tip to the limo or venue becuase it's already included in the price. I have no idea on the photobooth attendants or horse/carriage driver, so maybe someone else can help you there.

  • Here is a tipping cheat sheet that is pretty helpful: http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-planning/wedding-budget/articles/wedding-vendor-tipping-cheat-sheet.aspx.

Since your photographers and florist own their businesses, tipping is not necessary.

If you are happy with the DJ and MC's performances, I think the amounts that you are planning sound good.

If the horse and carriage driver is not the owner, I would give like a 15 percent tip.

I'm not sure about the cake delivery person or the photobooth operator.  Our cake delivery person and photobooth operator will be the owners so I'm not planning to tip them.
