So FI and I went to 2 different tux places this weekend to get pricing on tuxedos for the guys. One was Mens Wearhouse, and the other is a family owned, local business. We didn't want the traditional black tux, but yet wanted something fun and unusual.
Well here's what we decided. The groomsmen will be in the zoot suit below, equipped with an orange feather in the hat, orange suspenders, orange tie, and an orange cane. The dads will wear purple accessories, and FI will wear white.
Then our 2 ushers are our 2 brothers. Mind you, my brother wore a "pimp suit" to prom his senior year, and is 100% into being fun and different. Below is what they will be wearing. Yup, totally the suit from Dumb and Dumber.
Our colors are purple and orange, and the BM's will be in a deep purple dress. We ended up finding these tuxes, with all of the accessories, for $50 cheaper than the middle grade pinstripe tux from Mens Wearhouse (after my $40 off coupon since I got our BM dresses from DB). Yes, they're a little "out there," but we figured it's our wedding and we're going to have fun with it.
Now the fun begins of not telling the guys. They all know they're wearing something completely different, and they keep trying to guess what it is. The only one who has guessed right was my brother, and that's just because he knows me too well. The groomsmen have all guessed the hats and canes, but have no idea about the actual suit.
