Hello and congratulations ladies! I am an August 2011 bride, well now a wife. Some of the ladies who were married before August stopped by our board and offered advice. I thought it was a great idea and have decided to return the favor.
Come with a budget and stick with it. There were so many small details I stressed over and now realize it was not only a waste of time but money as well. Half the stuff I bought, people didn't notice or I didn't remember or notice.
Take time to relax with your fi and ban the wedding talk during this time. Getting married is a stressful time. Take time with your fi to relax and regroup. Especially when you are frustrated with him because he doesn't know the difference between apple green and green green; and trust me, it's not because he doesn't care.
Stay calm. Or, as calm as you can be. In the end, it will work out for the best. You won't hurt anyone's feelings, but you will still be able to say what you want.
Don't forget the importance of the wedding. No one cares that your shoes are off white instead of diamond white when they won't be able to see them anyways. The importance is that you and your fi are committing your lives to eachother.
Have fun. You will remeber this day forever and it will forever affect youir life.
