Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Is anyone else having difficulty making decisions at this point? I feel like all my major decisions are done and all I have to do now is plan a million little details, but its those million little details that are kililng me!

-Do I want the bridesmaids to have matching shoes or hair or jewelry?
-Do I want to wear a veil?
-What do I do with my hair?
-What do I want the flower girl to carry?
-I need to pick a card box, and a ring bearer pillow!
-How do I decorate the altar area?
-How do I display my escort cards? (oh, wait, I need to buy paper for escort cards!)
-What do I want for table numbers?
-Do I decorate the bar? The windowsills? The fireplace? The bathrooms? and How?

I wish all those darn RSVP's would come in today! Then I could figure out how many people are coming and therefore how much money I have for other stuff!

How did you make decisions on the "little" stuff? What are you struggling with?

Re: Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

  • my rsvp have been rolling in! but yeah all the little things are taking alot out of me like how the table configurations so i can purchase the rest of the table overlays.
what bridesmaid jewelry/style to have them go with?
the day of timeline is driving me crazy? fitting everything in a tight timeline
How to display the table names?
the songs for the ceremony so i can do the programs...

  • I agree!! IMO, it's all the little details that can make or break the day, too! In terms of the bridal party, I'm not doing matching jewelry or hair. They will have matching shoes dresses 2 of the 3 picked the same dress shoes! I'm also trying to delegate some of those tasks. I asked one BM to do the bathroom baskets, another to decorate the side room and the 3rd to print the programs work on that display.

  • OP, you're definitely not the only one! Pretty much half the stuff on your list I haven't decided on either. Every time I see FMIL, the conversation always leads to, "So you have you made any decisions on X, Y and Z?" I should tell her she shouldn't bother asking because the answer is still the same, haha!

To reduce the amount of decisions, and because it's easier, I told the BMs to do their hair nice. I don't even know what I'm doing for my hair, so how could I begin to tell them how to wear theirs? Two of my girls are a bit taller than me, so I just told them not to wear heels because otherwise they would really tower over me and the MOH, who is the same height as me. MOH is going to wear a low heel. I'm not wearing heels because that's not my thing.

I haven't figured out what the flower girl will carry or the escort cards. I did finally decide on table pictures (instead of numbers), but I have to figure out how to incorporate them with the centerpieces. There are so many things to decide on that I'm kind of just half ignoring all of them and just focusing on one or two things at a time. Then if I get stuck, I just focus on something else for a while.

    Good luck with your decisions!
  • Yeah that looks pretty similar to my to do list. You are not alone. I would say save yourself the stress and money and let BMs choose their own hair, jewelry, and shoes.
  • I actually had a MUCH harder time with the big decisions since they would shape the wedding.  We didn't know if we were going formal or picnic in the park.  I couldn't decide on colors or a dress.  I researched everything to death!  Now, the little details are more my style and those are actually easier.  I completely understand how you feel though since that's how I was with the big ones!

  • I've been struggling with decisions too..  I told my BMs to do their hair however they want it, and pick whatever shoes (although I specified silver shoes so at least the color matched)!!

I'm working on flowers at the moment, HUGE process!!
