Flower Girl Basket & Petals- CHECK!

I got our flower girl's basket from Walmart!!  It is a white picnic basket (well, easter basket that is white wicker and can pass as a white picnic basket) with a little frill at the top (ribbon with white butterflies)!

The handle for it is too long for her, so FI and I are going to measure and cut the handle to a shorter length (once we figured out we could get it out of the basket lol).  Also we are debating weaving red ribbon into the basket or having red somewhere on it!!


For the Petals, my SIL has a garbage bag full of her red rose petals from when she and my brother married (she lined the ENTIRE aisle with them rather than using a runner), and she is sending me a box of them for my niece/fg to scatter for our wedding   She thought this way i wouldn't have to go buy silk rose petals, and she is happy to see hers used again!!

So I am excited about these 2 checks!!!!  The basket will take a bit of DIY work, but nothing too bad!!!

We are using silk roses for everything except centerpieces I think.  My bridesmaids are each going to carry a bouquet of white silk roses, my bouquet will be a combo of red and white silk roses, and the bouts will be silk red roses   My SIL is sending silk rose petals as well

Our centerpieces (if it works out, crossing my fingers) will be using hydrangeas from my aunts garden!!  What we're doing (it is a picnic themed reception) is putting a single hydrangea in a tiny little picnic basket (we'll use a few on each table)!!


I will definitely post pics when we're done with the basket!!  I'm hoping to work on it a bit this weekend!

The basket was roughly $4 from Walmart, if anyone else is interested in buying them
