last 2 big checks

We decided on our invites and I booked hair and makeup! I am very excited for another check! I think its our last "big" thing, before we have to worry about the details.

Also my mom is continuing to add to our guest list. I am standing firm no now, and she is saying she will pay for them. That's not the point, when FI and I made our guest list it was 68 people. We already are at 250. Its getting insane. He and I have been together 8.5 years, and I feel like if I haven't met members of his extended family/vise versa, they shouldn't come. Parents feel differently apparently.

She is even going so far to say that her friend will "never forgive her". Can you say dramatic?

Congrats on the checks.  I've had to firmly tell my FI family members "no" with the guest list too.  My FI and I actually got into an argument because his father had asked to have someone on the guest list and then we found out from his grandma that the person had passed away a couple of years ago!  I said, "If you don't know if they are dead or alive, they aren't getting invited!"  While is is important to include people your family is close with, especially if family is helping to pay, going from 68 to 250 people is crazy!  Stick to your guns!
