Maybe it's my fault, maybe it's not! I'm having troubles with one of my bridesmaids with finding a dress. The bridesmaid is one of my cousins, an older one, we've always been close growing up even with the 6 year age gap, kind of more like sisters then cousins. I always knew before getting engaged that I would have her in my wedding. Lately she started dating her girlfriend, and her attitude has kind of changed. I told my mom by the way that she has been acting that I think she'll be the one out of any of my bridesmaids to give me difficulties and sure enough she proved me right!
Here's the story: When I got engaged and asked my girls to be in my wedding and when we started talking dresses, I always said that they could pick out their own dress because of different body types, I thought it would be hard to find one to fit them all. Well we went to go look at dresses recently, I had 3 of my 5 girls with me(I have 4 Bridesmaids and an maid of honor), my maid of honor already has her dress, it's bought and hanging at my house. 2 of the 3 bridesmaids that day didn't really find one that they liked, and my cousin did, but didn't have the money right then and there to pay for it, so they put it on a open order so all she had to do was call it in and pay by card. I went back 2 weeks later with my younger cousin who wasn't there the time before, and found out that my other cousin never called to order her dress and well it turns thank goodness that she didn't!
While my younger cousin was looking we found a dress that I ABSOLUTELY love!! It's SO pretty and it looks really good with my maid of honors dress! I saw the one that my older cousin liked it my wedding color (apple red) and I absolutely HATED the dress! It looked horrible in red! Since my younger cousin is smaller in the chest area then my older cousin I said I would try it on, since I'm bigger then the both of them and thought that way too my older one can't complain about it not fitting in the boobs. My mom and my Aunt who came with us said they like the new dress better then my older cousins dress and that the 2 of them and the maid of honors dress didn't look good together at al, and I agreed!
So after me trying it on, I took a picture of it and sent it to the other Bridesmaids and 2 of them said they thought it looked really cute and couldn't wait to try it on, and then my older cousin responded back! Saying that she doesn't think it would fit her body type that the pleading would look horrible having the fact that she has bigger boobs then my younger cousin. I texted her back saying that the girls at David's Bridal thought it would compliment everyones body type and that they could work with sizing and alterations to have it fit, and that there are straps that can be added if she's not comfortable with it being strapless, which I didn't think should be a problem since she's worn multiple strapless dresses before!
Well turns out my older cousin sent my Aunt(her mom) a text of the two dresses complaining that I changed my mind, and that this new dress isn't gonna look good on her! Then my cousin came over my house to drop something off and didn't even say hi to me! She said hi to my mom and grandma, completely ignored me, until she left 5mins later and just said bye to me!
I'm completely upset about this! I felt horrible that she didn't say hi to me! Over a dress for MY wedding! I was so upset I wasn't able to fall asleep last night, all I could think about was that maybe it's my fault and I shouldn't of changed my mind about the dress. If I would of seen this dress when we went the first time I would of fallen in love with it then! So now I'm affraid to bring up to my older cousin that she needs to go try it on!
Is it my fault? Should I of just stuck with the fact that they could pick out their own dresses? Or is my cousin just acting childish and I should give her a few weeks to chill out before bringing up the dresses again? UGH!!
