I share ice cream with my dogs. I even eat off the same spoon or cone. I understand that it's gross, but oh well. To me, it's no different than letting them lick my face.

I think I'm mostly just embarrassed that she sent this to like everyone...even my high school choir director.  I don't know...I just don't know why she'd take a picture of it and then send it to 20 people.

llc_lauren- I've got to admit, when I saw your Siggy Challenge picture I thought it said "The Runs." Gross!

Amy, that "could of" "would of" "should of" thing...I almost mentioned that in the actual post yesterday.  I'm not perfect, but my goodness.

I'm about to sound like a total grammar nazi here, but I really hate when people don't understand the proper way to use certain phrases. It's "would have," "could have," and "should have," not "would of." If you read your sentence and think about the meaning of the words, it doesn't make sense to use "of" instead of "have."Also, some guy on Facebook just posted "My mom and I reached for a tater tot at the same time. Let's just say that it got smacked to the back seat of the car." Let's just say that it got smacked? Doesn't that imply that you're leaving some part of the story out?  You're not being funny by including that phrase when it's completely unnecessary.Sorry, but this kind of thing drives me crazy. That's why it's on FFF.

Sorry Mariah, I had a glitch of some sort, I think. I'm not perfect either and don't profess to be, but there are a few things that really should be common knowledge.

I *heart* (or big puffy pink heart or whatever it is) the lovely ladies who are sticklers for grammar here.

Thanks :) I'm a stickler for grammar everywhere.  Speech and writing are the most popular forms of communication.  If you know how to use those tools properly, then it can be the clearest form of communication.  Improper use can lead to serious miscommunications.

Alana, do you remember DorieNail?  She STILL brings up how snarky we were about her grammer/spelling/capitalization on her club boards.
  • edited December 2011
It wasn't the grammar that bothered me. She just seemed kind of immature.

Sometimes, not all the time, it goes hand-in-hand, Marissa.  Usually the people who "just don't care" about using proper grammar tend to be particularly immature.

I remember there was one post about how she met her FI's siblings and I swear to you, I had to re-read the post about 5 times before it started to make sense because I couldn't understand what she was trying to say.

I HATE TXU.  Seriously, I hate them.  Since we transferred to our new apartment 3 months ago, they failed to bill us because they never set up a contract with Oncor to come out and read our meters.  So I get a bill last month from my apartment complex for electricity because they think I don't have any company set up that I use.  So after literally 10-12 hours on the phone (over the course of 3 days), I finally am told that they screwed up (uh, duh?) and are fixing the problem.  I get an issue number - they call me yesterday saying that my issue has been resolved - so I call back today.  Guess what?  Their resolution was to CLOSE my account and make ME call to open a new one, but because they're so nice, they offered to waive all of the fees associated with opening a new account.  I just asked what I owed for the account, paid it, and told them I would NEVER use them again.I kept track, I spoke to 25 different people before this finally happened.  Needless to say, I HATE TXU!

I have to confess that I judge people who don't use proper grammar when writing.  When you write, you have the benefit of correcting yourself (generally), so if you don't know whether what you're writing is proper, find another way to convey your message.  (I'm terrible at spelling, but find that most ideas don't require big words that are difficult to spell.)DH laughs because sometimes when I'm writing a post, it'll take me 20 minutes because I want to make sure I didn't make any mistakes and that I'm being clear in my intent and not offending anyone needlessly.

I'm really bad about run on sentences.  Not in proper writing, but in virtual communication.  Sometimes I get excited and try to get my thoughts out quickly.  This can lead to lots of ",'s" or "...'s".    However, that being said, I think I definitely must have missed something yesterday?

Sara, a few years ago TXU accidentally cancelled my electricity and I didn't notice...until a month later when I got a bill for electricity through  my apartment complex and a letter stating that I needed to find my own electric company or else they'd turn off my electricity at the end of the week (I got their notice on a Wednesday).  Naturally, TXU was too booked up to come and turn on my electricity that Friday so it didn't come on until Monday.  It was terrible.

I didn't wash my hair this morning. i just brushed it and recurled it with a curling iron.   Now I can't wait to go home and shower.  It's amazing what seems like a good idea when you've only been awake for 5 minutes.

I hid a girl on Facebook because she always spelled "good" as "gud". On purpose.

There's a girl on my FB that I seriously want to report to STFU, Marrieds!  because she CONSTANTLY talks about how awesome her "hubby" is and how much she loves him.  Constantly.  It irritates the ever-loving crap out of me.  I want to say, "Look, I get it.  I don't want to read about it every day".

I have no filter and am so intent on getting my thoughts out there *RIGHT THEN!*(yeah I don't know why) that I either sound ditzy, immature, stupid or a combo of all three. But my friends know this and love me anyways. And since I use mozilla, it has a built in spell checker which is fantastic!Example: Last night I was looking at regretsy.com(haha!) and I saw the picture of the knitted cuffs on the bird and it literally took me a good 5 minutes to realize it was a REAL bird...and then I just blurted out(jokingly to FI) 'that's child abuse!':-| (this is the face  I gave myself)FI gave me the amused raised eyebrow look.It took me a good 45 seconds to think of what I was trying to say...ANIMAL abuse!*head desk*

Eck, Mariah!  I don't know a single person who loves TXU.  It stinks now though because I have to go through finding a new electricity company.  I know it's not THAT big of a deal - it just stinks because I was a TXU customer for 6 years, and they act like they could care less.At least the headache is over (for now). Also, I have a FB friend who uses 2, 4 and 8 as though they're actual words, not numbers.  She texts like this, too.  ACK!
