skip ceremony huh???

Well with ten days left....
I got my marriage license, ordered cupcakes for the church family, lingerie for the wedding weekend, and thank you cards! whoop! go me today.... now

So today  one of my lovely guest informed me she is skipping the ceremony and just going to the reception because she doesnt know where the church is located. Seriously the church and reception is maybe 15 min apart ughhhh You will drive a whole hour just for a reception. smh that kind of hurt my feelings but oh well.... now she is coming to both! Im not shy of speaking my mind!

I have a guest thats only coming to the recpetion only because she had realized that she had a birthday thing to do that day. She was SO upset that she wasn't going to be able to come and thought we wouldn't allow her to come to the reception. Haha

I have a friend who is only coming for my reception but that's because he just went through a horrible divorce and I even told him I wouldn't be at all offended if he didn't want to come for the wedding at all. Sometimes people have personal reasons for not wanting to go...

I understand when people have other obligations during the ceremony, things like work and other functions come up. However, my biggest wedding pet peeve is when people don't come to the ceremony for some dumb reason or just because they don't want to! The ceremony is the whole reason for the day and I think it is outright insulting to the bride and groom (and the people who are hosting the reception)!

Ok, end rant.

bridejl, I so agree. It is so rude for anyone to be invited to the wedding of two people in love and then just say "No thanks, I'll just come to the party after you pledge your life and love to your honey."

yeah i have a few people telling me they can only make it to reception but my ceremony is a friday afternoon so i guess thats expected. I still find it kinda rude but if its cause of work i cant really say anything. Just if its my family or good friend i always go.
