Slideshow?

I'm not sure if we should do a slideshow or not. Are you ladies doing this? How common are they now?

I personally have no interest in compiling anything like that, not does my mom or anyone else in my family.  I think they are cute if you want to invest the time in making one.

We are doing one. Honestly it took a lot of time to gather photos, scan them in, put them in order, find music, then cut it down. If you are getting married in 2 weeks I'd just skip it or find someone you can hire to do it for you.

I always thought I was going to do one, but a few months ago I decided it was something I could cut and no one would miss. We have a shutterfly photo guestbook that has pictures of our 9 year relationship. I've been to mutiple weddings that have had them, and I think they are very cute, but time consuming.

we rented a flat screen tv from rent a center for 30 dollars (they drop it off at the reception site and pick it up too), I threw about 60 pics on a SD card and arranged them in a certain order (probably took about 3 hrs total), and all we have to do is slip the sd card in the tv and it's all set to go for a slide show.  we think it will serve as a good conversation piece during cocktail hr. we're not having music play on the slide show because the dj will be plalying already

We are doing one just because FMIL offered to make one and she is really excited about it. So I figured I wouldn't say no.

We decided early on that this was something we wanted to do so we started early.  We enlisted the help of family to help gather photos & to help with some of the scanning.  We haven't really asked our family to do much (and I think they may even feel a bit left out), so they were excited to help.

We used Windows Movie Maker to compile it and just need to burn it to DVD.  Our reception site has a large TV where we will have it on a loop showing during cocktail hour.  We have a bit of a longer cocktail hour, so this will be nice to have as fill-in.  We plan on showing it to the wedding party/parents at our rehearsal dinner since they will likely miss most of cocktail hour for photos.

Our Best Man was going to do one for us, but he dropped out of the wedding on Monday (seriously).  

Sooo, if we want one we will do it ourselves and that is only if FI can get pictures from his family in time!

My business Cassidy Quinn Creative creates slideshows for weddings and rehearsal dinners.  I do the scanning, editing, and add all your favorite music! It's a lot of work for a bride to edit her own slideshow with eveything else you have going on!  A slideshow is a nice touch to add, and even post wedding is a less expensive way rememeber your night by putting all your pictures to music if you opted out of a videographer!
