So I just found out that the Pro Cycling Challenge 2012 will b going through Golden over my wedding. Our wedding is on August 24th and the challenge starts in golden on the 25th. I know we are lucky that its not on the 24th that the challenge goes through town but that means everyone will be coming and staying the night in golden that Friday night. We are getting married at the Golden hotel which is right on the main street in golden where it will go through. Some people didn't want to stay there due to the price so they were going to stay  else where. Now everyone has to rush to book a room before there are none left, and prices were increased. 

On a good note we are going cake tasting tomorrow at two bakery's, we decided on doing a  cupcake cake! And next Friday is shopping for my dress!! yay

First off, congrats on booking such a pretty venue!  We also considered the Golden Hotel -- really liked the hotel and the downtown area.  

I am now getting married August 25th in Denver.  The race will be going through Denver on the 26th, so we're in the same boat as you.  Even though this means scrambling a bit to make sure guests have their rooms, I would try to see this more as a blessing in disguise.  What an awesome local activity for our guests!  I have gone ahead and added information about the Pro Cycling Challenge to our website.  Maybe some of your guests would enjoy watching the race on the 25th after your wedding?  Some may even want to make a bigger vacation out of it and follow the race through Colorado.  Good luck with cake/dress shopping and wedding planning!  Hopefully the race will be more fun than headache.
