I just wanted to say thanks to everyone in this forum for being so supportive.
I think I was the first lonely member (maybe with ColtsTJ) on this board, and we had a totally different group of girls. Most of them either moved up or moved back their weddings, eloped, etc. but there is stilla nice core here and i am glad that everyone is NICE and supportive to one another.
I feel that the other boards, except for DIY and local boards people are SO mean.
I have contacted the knot in the past because I feel that it is online bullying ia terrible on this site and its a HUGE issue especially since online bullying is a "hot " topic right now in the media but nothing every changes.

I just wanted to thank everyone from this board and say congrats on being classy, nice, stand up girls!

I am the newest newb around, but I've been lurking for a while, and I agree that it is quite nice in this little corner of the Internet, here, unlike other places. About me: we are getting married in San Diego on August 18, at which time we will have been together just over two years. We are both 38 and have a cat together (she came into the relationship with me, but FI is definitely her daddy now. We have big families and are planning a fairly large wedding; I think it is about 300 guests all told. It's likely that the actual attendance will be lower because lots of our guests live on the other side of the country or overseas. My bridesmaids will be in chocolate-colored long gowns, and we will all carry mixed bouquets of roses, dahlias, callas,, green hydrangeas, and orchids. My dress is a lace Amy Kuschel (the Noe design) and it is coming on June 20-I am so excited! So, hello!

I would be lost without this place.  It's nice to be able to talk to women going though the same stresses of the Aug. wedding.  My FI tries to listen as long as he can, and I TRY not to overload my friends, so you ladied have been a blessing.  THANK YOU ALL

I 100% agree! Not everybody will like everything people are planning, but there is almost always a nice thing to be said regardless...or just lurk the post and don't comment. That's how us respectful women do it! I don't know why it's so easy to do on local posts, yet some of those same people (not referring to an august 12 bride) will bully on other forums. I sometimes wonder how miserable those people must be in real life for them to be that hateful to a stranger... it makes me laugh a little, but sad at the same time.

This board rocks and I'm never scared my question is "too dumb" to post about, and I'm never scared I'm gunna get attacked for having a non-traditional idea

I am right there with you odu, its hard not to overload fi with the monotonous details lol. Welcome 6(thats my favorite number, just fyi lol) Your wedding sounds beautiful, and happy planning, Your right 2012, there is a bunch of great women here!! :)

I enjoy the forums.  It gives me aplace to vent and be excited about silly wedding things that others don't care about.  I generally post a lot of stuff like that onto Facebook but am not for the wedding as we are having a relatively small wedding and I don't want people getting upset about not being invited.

Welcome 6. I agree with PP. This board is great. Some other boards are too crazy. Brides come for support not verbal attacks. I feel sorry for some of the other boards because I know that is not what TK intended it to be.

I have always talked about how nice this board is to my friends and family, haha. Totally agree, OP. And I feel the same way, msowena. I don't fear for my life when I post on this board, haha.

Also, Six, my date is August 19th, and the next day FI and I are honeymooning in San Diego!

I'm so glad that we have each other. you girls are right sometimes its a nice place to come for those "concerns" you have that you feel silly mentioning to friends or families or when you are just in the mood to talk Wedding and you know everyone else around you has heard enough.

I agree.  It's so nice to see everyone being congratulated on their checks or asking how each other is doing in their NWR lives.
It's so helpful to see where everyone else is in the planning process and some unique ideas or solutions that others have come up with.
I find myself more and more talking about this post and ideas or issues that we can still use or still avoid!  Thank you for all your help, ladies, and good luck with the remainder of your planning!

I agree, this board has been so helpful and supportive through all of our planning!  I am so lucky to have found a group of ladies that is so nice (my FI appreciates me having somewhere to vent as well)!!  Thank you to all you ladies for everything these last months!!

Also, 6, August 18th is my date too!!  Welcome date twin!!
